If REGIS had a jaw it would have dropped. A one hundred percent certainty does not come from a wandering creature with a destructive nature. No. The local fauna wanted this block destroyed, and it's destruction was a high priority for them. This was exceedingly troublesome, especially since the cube had no protection aside from the actions of the current party.

"THAT IS NOT GOOD."

Reggie looked around to see where the other two that stayed behind were and what they were doing. Almost immediately he saw Nikolai practicing his aim with a rock.

"NIKOLAISUN! YOUSUN NEED TO COMES BACKS HERE!"

Reggie started looking around worriedly.

"NIKOLAISUN! YOUSUN NEED TO COMES BACKS HERE!"
Nikolai turned his head calmly.
: "What? There is nothing to worry. I'm practicing my aim here, I won't leave the clearing."

As he talked to the golem, he heard some screaming:
"Also, get away from my new cute friend you evil monsters! I know Land-Walker-Fu!"
: "Hey, it seems they found trouble already. And I think 'cute' must have a different meaning in her world."

Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

Pre-battle
: "Enough of me. Tell me of your world. 'Ley lines'... a world run by magic, then?"
Aidan nodded.

"Ley-lines of magic. Places of power stemming from the geography of the area, all empowered by the living earth that is our world. They are used for navigation, for these ley-lines not only have their roots on the land, but disperse themselves in the air and sea.

"My world was...particularly thriving with these. Actually, my world only consisted of three 'Islands', though in relative terms, they could be called continents now that I think of it. The Ley-lines were connected at a core, the ley-beam. This core acted as a lifespring and a ward, against anything else that may intrude into our lands. This meant other races - humans, in general.

"Yes, we lived in the same lands as them, but were only like myth and legend, as these lines served as an...illusion. They couldn't see us, sense us, or know about us, but we existed in the same place as they. It was easy to disguise ourselves if we strayed far past our borders, anyway."
He tapped the tips of his ears, "the only noticeable difference."

Aidan glanced around, and saw that Queen was far behind him as he spoke. It seemed that his memory was acting on itself, now.

He sighed. He got carried away once more with his talk. At least, this lull would give him time to reword his story, jumbled as it currently was. To make it worse, he was very far from the rest.

A padding of feet, the shifting of grass. These, Aidan easily missed until their cause became apparent. Two strange creatures of brackish hue stood before him with large, tear-drop like tails. They were on all fours.

He raised an eyebrow at their sudden appearance, seeing their hostility. "I won't hurt you two, you know."

It didn't look like they wanted to parley. Nor did it look like they were friendly, or afraid of him. He wasn't much of an expert in the melee, knowing his own prowess.

"THEY'RES NOTS THE ONESUN REGGIE IS CONCERNED WITHS."

The golem looked around nervously.

"THE LITTLES CUBEUN MAN TOLDS REGGIE DAT DA CREATURESUN WILLS ATTACKS IFFUN WE LEAVES DIS PLACE ALONE. SO'S UNLESSUN WE'S LEAVES SOME KINDA PROTECTION BEHINDS, WE'S STAYS RIGHT HERES."

REGIS slumped a little and lowered his voice to an almost whisper.

"REGGIE DON'TS WANTS TO DO THIS ALONE..."

: "Oh, interesting...Well, it won't be a problem since I'll keep training my aim around here anyway. Since I'll stay in the clearing with you, I think the cube will be relatively safe."

Turn 5, Day 1, ???

As the golem and the human where talking about the warning the Cube had given, Lan had stopped moving completely and grown cold and lifeless. It seemed that something forced the death of her self in her own world, and her Daros Counterpart reflected it. The grim hand of the Reaper breaks through the aether and claims another fallen.

Nikolai finished talking to the golem and started to take aim towards a nearby tree. After a few seconds of pulling back his arm and steadying his aim, he threw with all the force he could muster. The rock got a good arc and flew true towards the tree. The rock struck the tree and a hard "Thunk!" could be heard. Just as the rock was falling back to the ground and Nikolai started moving towards it, A plated creature leapt out and snagged it! It was identical to the creatures that the other group was battling at this moment. The thieving runt looked at Nikolai and... Snickered? What? It then quickly turned tail and ran back into the deep fog with the rock.

Meanwhile, the other group are rushing into Conquest!

Aidan gathered up his courage and low-kicked the creature! It took 2 HP worth of damage.

Aidan then Shifted Zone! He could hear the rumbling of his teammates rushing to his aid.

Bowser, Queen and Sadie initiated a Charge! Queen entered the Magi Zone, while Bowser and Sadie rushed into the Melee Zone, and continued rushing into a Charge Assault! They took 6 HP and 2 HP worth of damage respectively.

Bowser figured out Charge Assault: Slam!

Sadie figured out Charge Assault: Haymaker!

One of the two creatures have been bested, and explode into a cloud of gray miasma and a series of chittering plates. Both of them had been pushed into the Medium Zone, but the other one Shifts back into the Melee Zone.

Sadie looked the creature over, but in all ways it didn't really make any sense! It looked like some kind of mammal, but it was covered in hard, light reflecting plates! It seemed to have at least 2 rows of teeth in its mouth, and its eyes seemed little more than bulbous shells that guard some sort of light rustling fluid inside the cranium. When they moved, they sounded like armor, but they were still light and agile like squirrels! Truly these were either wonders of natural evolution, or the wicked creation of mad biologists! The creature did not seem to have a weak point in it's body, though what would she know, she has never seen it's like before!

As she was pondering the odd creature, it leapt at her and bit her stomach and leg! Sadie's natural protection helped her withstand it, but she still took 1 HP worth of damage.

: "Here I go!"

Queen, using the only object she had in her inventory, hurled a spiral fruit at the opposing creature as hard and fast as she possibly could.

"Phah! No corpse to skin or examine!"

Aidan was glad that his allies responded when they could. He saw the teeth latch onto Sadie's arms, and see how sharp the incisors were.

He would try to tend to her later on and...

Did she say something special about him?

"Bwahahaha! Ain't I a piece of work? You're lucky I decided to come along." Bowser guffawed, seeing the creature he attacked vanish in a puff of smoke. No meat, unfortunately. Looked like fruits it was for the current time, but no matter. He turned his attention to the remaining creature. Inhaling sharply, he attempted to breathe flames at it.

Sadie inspected her wound.

"Ow. Injury."

She turned her attention back to the strange thing, and daintly hopped forward, intending the kick the beast like a beachball if it wasn't destroyed by the Lizardfolks fire breath.

Action: Kick it!

Seuche followed the group warily as they made short work of the creatures. They seemed to be handling it alright without her and her guns - if the damn things even worked anymore, that was. The cuboid hadn't been lying about the dangers of the area, though - she made sure to keep up with the others.

She kept her eyes open and watched their surroundings for any more of these things, as the others seemed preoccupied with the battle.

((Not sure if we're supposed to be aware of the approaching foes? If so, Seuche will try to identify if they're the same as these two or different.))

Nikolai looked at the creature contemplatively as it escaped. It appeared to have a measure of sentience or at least a mischievous nature approaching that of sentient beings. It also didn't seem to be very courageous, judging from its hurried retreat into the fog.
: "Well, I'll try other thing."

It could as well be a trap, a way of pulling him into an ambush. He was genre savvy enough to know that following it because of a simple rock wasn't exactly intelligent. He then turned his attention to the cube. After all, if it was supposed to be protected by them and at the same time work as their storage, then they could probably move it if they wanted to.

The sounds of combat reached the clearing, but Nikolai just shrugged. They were able to enough to pull it off without anyone getting hurt, or at least he thought so. Then something occurred to him.
: "Hey, remember you can store things inside the cube!" he shouted, trying to get someone of the party to hear him.

Check for a way of moving the cube or otherwise making it portable.
((If I can still see the little thief, since the GM said we can see what's on the map at a reasonable distance and the black piece is there.))
Instead of checking the cube, charge into combat against the little thief, preventing him from leaving the clearing. Use martial arts instead of simple brute strength, with a downwards heel kick to its head. Preferentially shoving its head into the dirt.
