((I'm quick, Sadie. I believe you can do the same. :3))

Aidan quickly spat out whatever his face had implanted in due to the momentum of kicking miasmic clouds.

"Well, this is soil, alright."

He quickly ascertained his position and moved into a sidewards roll.

Issue a leg sweep to the...thing that fires rocks! Get it off balance and strike it!

Cora, catching the bow from the air, looked at it in amazement.

"Never seen anything quite like this before, never fired a bow either, but in this world it's all bar none." She then tries to pull the string back and fire it at a tree, to see if it needs munitions of some kind.

"And if you could be a bit steadier down there, it's hard to stay on if you move all around the place like that."

Turn 16, Day 1, ???

Nikolai opens the second chest and gets a Generic Sword! How positively Generic.

REGIS walks up to the bell.

Cora practices with the Generic Bow, and as she thought, the bow supplied a small line of light formed and was then fired as Cora let go of the bow string, right into the nearby tree, where the light exploded and disappeared again. How useful!

Bowser dumps the Cube as he starts moving southeast-wards towards the other group.

A Uniq revealed itself after the bell began to shine slightly!

: "BEGONE MORTAL, FOR IT IS I, DING, WHO SHALL BE YOUR JUDGE AND JURY!!"

: "C-Calm down Ding... It's another g-group of heroes! Explain-ain-ain your function please!"

: "Oh! Okay! I am Ding, Uniq of the Bell of Heroes! What I do is convert Tones into abilities and stat points! Effectively, I am the station for powering up yourself so you can face the trials that await you all in the land of Acos! Isn't that just neat?"

: "Ech, she is always so perky..."

Meanwhile, Southeast-wards...

Gruesome warfare is dealt, as Queen shifts into the Medium Zone! Sadie breaks the monster with ease though. Aidan tries to damage the damn turret creature, but to no gain. Collective damage: 3.

...The Captain has had enough of this bullshit.

CRITICAL: HOMERUN!

Vigorous spoils are to be had!

Spoiler: Missing Link (click to show/hide)

Sadie sighed. She was badly wounded-but wasn't feeling much in the way of pain. It was almost as if she wouldn't really hurt until she lost all her Hearts-critical existence failure?

"A hard fought battle. At least we won many of these colorful plates..." She asked quizzically, stowing some of them away.

....

She turned to the Elf.

"Are you okay, Aidan? I saw you fall, and I feared the worst!"

Action: Head back to the rest of the team at the bell. Help pick up 25% of the plates we found.

"I knew these were going to have some sort of use, and what a one to have!" Cora takes out a couple tones and looks at them for a bit.

"So, ah, Ding was it? How does one go about using these to acquire powers that were once ours?"

: "Well. Anti-climactic."

Queen also helped pick up 25% of the plates...

SMASH

((What? What else needs to be said?))

Afterwards, she approached Seuche. She knew the captain wasn't a big speaker, but she had to say something. After all, Sadie was busy with Aidan.

: "Ah, Captain! Underestimated you. Where did you learn to fight in such manner?"

Getting the sword firmly hanging from one of the various straps of his jacket (included for style, now with a reason to be), Nikolai took the tones from his pocket, checking them.
: "I'll go fetch the rest of the group."

Nikolai goes after the rest of the group...

Upon finding the scene of the rest of the teammates (and watching something fly far away) apparently in the afterglow of a battle, with both Aidan and Sadie pretty beaten up, the youth scratched the back of his head. Yeah, one of the bulkier guys should've guarded them. The fishwoman was tall, but she didn't seem too resilient, and the elf was shorter than him and appeared to have a glass jaw.
: "Hey there, we found both the Bell of Heroes and a new teammate. Follow me, I'll show the way."

...and takes them to the Bell.

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

REGIS approached the bell and put his hand on the side, then once again spoke in his code language to the new Uniq.

[IT'S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU. DING AND DONG. THAT IS QUITE HUMOROUS. WOULD BE SAFE TO ASSUME THAT YOU ARE SOMEHOW RELATED? ALSO, COULD YOU PLEASE GO INTO MORE DETAIL AS TO HOW WE WOULD USE YOUR PARTICULAR SERVICES? I FORESEE THAT YOUR HELP WILL BE QUITE USEFUL TO US, AND IS VERY WELCOME.]

Eat that spiral fruit!

Aidan helps by getting 25% of those plates, +2, because 26!

Aidan affixed the brooch holding up his cloak, "It's quite easy to fumble when you strike at an opponent that immediately disintegrates into...these strange plates.

"I'm alright, Sadie, but it looks like we won't survive another round of those creatures if we're ambushed. They...hurt a lot more than I thought. Suppose we won't find any more of those strange roots along the way, returning to the rest?"

Then head back to the rest of the team at the bell, keeping watch on the trees and nearby shrubbery for any foes - and those roots that Sadie found.

If I did find any, give the extra to those who can carry them.

Sadie limps along back 'home', wincing. She occasionally seems to be thinking about something. She takes a closer look at Aidan, and murmurs something that sounds like "...but no wings..."

Louder, she says.

"You know Aidan, I sometimes get the feeling I've met you before.

You said you were a Bard of the Shimmering Isles, correct?"

"Looks like you guys saw some action," Bowser said, as he came across the rest of their group returning from their fight. They seemed a little worse for the wear, but more or less intact and alive. "Ya give those little black things a good stomping? Come on, we've found something up that way. Some sort of bell. The cube thingie says we can use those tones to restore our abilities," Bowser went with the group as they headed north, sticking with them in case more of the monsters showed up.

"Yo, Ding!" Bowser said, addressing the bell. "How many of these tone things is it gonna take to get me my fire breath back?"

She nods to the Giant Lizardfolk Warrior. (Bowser)

"Indeed, there was plenty of 'action'-and there was more just the little black ones!

We faced a new enemy, one that fired boulders from a cannon...thing on it's nose, ignoring the laws of physics and mass entirely.

Odd place this! If I were a little more sane, I'd probably go mad.

...what was that about a Bell?"

Sadie thought. Unlike the others, she didn't really practice magic-while she had the capability, in theory, she had never been trained. She certainly didn't breathe fire. Her weapons were usually running away and talking things down. Compared to the others she could be considered, well...mundane. Boring. Ho-Hum. The thought made her frown.

She knew she could fight much better in Mershark form, but it was a bit tricky willing her body to form exactly like that, especially when out of water. And she didn't really like to lose control...what if she hurt someone?

What did the Bell have to train her, she wondered...

: "Ah, Captain! Underestimated you. Where did you learn to fight in such manner?"

: 'Oh, here and there. Every now and then I end up in a world where I can't, for whatever reason, use my guns. It pays off to learn to swing an axe or a club. Anyway, these things remind of a nasty arachnoid nest that appeared on the lower decks once. Looked fearsome, but you just need to give them a good, solid hit and they go down. Or up, in this case.'

Seuche bent down to pick up some of the loot (25%, I guess) too before heading after the others.

"Yo, Ding!" Bowser said, addressing the bell. "How many of these tone things is it gonna take to get me my fire breath back?"

Queen followed along with Bowser. After heading back and reaching the Cube, she had an important question for Uniq:

: "Uniq, what benefits do different colors of tone grant? How may they help?"
