“Grim chest? Sounds like this thing is important. Well, what are we waiting for? I wanna see what’s in it!” Bowser said, as he lumbered over to the chest. Without bothering to wait, he began popping it open, or at least trying to. He still kept an ear, metaphorically at least, on the conversation.

“The human has a point. Either I or tinman here should go with them. Someone big in each group. You want to go Reggie?” Bowser asked, glancing up at REGIS.

Sadie broke off half of the Terranome and began chewing as instructed.

"Well. The flavor does remind one of...evil. If the moral alignment of evil had a taste as it's mascot, it would be this root. Eeep." She said, grimacing.

....

Hearing Nikolais words, she nodded.

"Shall we go find the others, Aidan? Since we are such good friends, you can ride on my shoulders if you like. It's a good way to intimidate wild animals and appear more threatening." Sadie said, smiling.

She paused for dramatic effect.

"That was a joke."

Action: Chew and eat half to the Terranome, if possible-store the rest of the root in the box. Follow Aidan and find Queen and Seuche.

While waiting for a response, she noticed Queen had de-hooded. She seemed to like this look more.

: "Where to next? I'll follow you, dear."

"I think that makes you look much colder Queen. Cold is cool! Cool is good. Hot is also good. In my world, from what I understand all Land-Walkers want to be both "Cool" and "Hot". Which is confusing to me. I think you are both of those.

But, as my female Human friends tell me when I visit Seattle, 'we must do something with that hair'..."
She said.

She said.

Noticing Sadie sneaking up behind her, Queen quickly turned around and put her finger to her mouth.

: "Oh, shush! No ill meant, but we may startle our prey."

With a more hushed tone and a wink, Queen nodded and spoke more softly.

: "Thank you, dear. Worn that hood too many days. Twenty? Fifty? Good to show true colors again. Guessing 'Seattle' is a far-off travel spot from your world?"

Sadies voice also dropped to a 'conspiratorial' whisper. Which sounds like her normal voice, but slightly more 'sneaky' sounding.

"Oh, it's a wonderfully large Land-walker city, with many people and tall buildings, which is truly an over simplification. The Landmark Space Needle itself is 138 feet high.

Which is to say, the city is both wonderful and wonderfully large. When I am in that part of my world, I always spend my vacation weekends there-they have best seafood, and the nicest Land-Walkers. Not Like Miami...but I digress.

Population numbered around 620,779 the last I checked. Do the cities in your world grow that big, or bigger?"

: "Erm..."

Queen's eyes glazed over as Sadie described her city with such terminology as "space needle" and "Miami".

: "My kingdom... never that populous. But indeed very large! Our castle was the grandest as far as could see: the inside was nearly large as the commoners' city just nearby! T'were other kingdoms like Hyrule in my world, but too far away to contact."

: "So...What happened there? It seems she is hurt."
Following the others, Aidan indulged in the best thing to do: Speak.

"Well, we encountered a few strange blackish...squirrel-like things with sharp teeth and other natural weaponry. Sadie was wounded in my defense..."

"Are you leaving Queen and Seuche by themselves? We should stay divided in two groups to cover ground faster."

"And, I think-"

"Shall we go find the others, Aidan?[...]"
"We will."

Aidan grinned at the prospect of being carried higher than he could even reach, but in that sense it would show poor manners from where he came from. Still, he wouldn't let the merfolk try withou-

"That was a joke."

"Well, I agree with the human. Let's part ways for now, but as the cube is with our monarch over there, try to keep close for contact."

He listened on to the conversations of the others, Leaving the final choice of direction to Queen.

"Does anyone find it strange that this whole place is lit with light, but no sun or moons?

"And before I forget, err, Uniq? How does magic work in this world?"

Ask the above, following getting a ration of paste and another fruit for the journey.

: "Erm..."
Sadie clapped her hands.

"You must come from a late medieval society, then! I have so much to teach you.My 21th century was marked by rapid increases in population brought on by medical, architectural, social and agricultural advancement. The world is no less or more violent then it ever was, I suppose...

Erm, to continue. Seattle is just ONE city of a Kingdom called "America" that spans an entire continent of land-that is, bordering by two seperate oceans on either side. Though we don't have Kings or Queen, our leaders are elected by popular vote, more or less. There are many cities even larger than that, and with so many Land-Walkers they must fly in the air, or use tunnels underground to move about in them.

I'm sure this must be shocking for Royalty like yourself to hear, but our concept of size is verily determined by the reality we inhabit.

After all, when I emerged from the waters I was born in, I thought that tiny pool was as big as the world could be.

....I'm sure your Kingdom is much nicer to visit, though! Ever if much, much...much smaller. As they say, it's not the size that counts, right?"

"Does anyone find it strange that this whole place is lit with light, but no sun or moons?"

"Indeed. I can only hypothesize some sort of ambient light energy comes from everything around here-the trees, the grass, the stones...much like the creatures, this entire world, it seems-has been constructed for our benefit."

“The human has a point. Either I or tinman here should go with them. Someone big in each group. You want to go Reggie?” Bowser asked, glancing up at REGIS.

"RIGHTS NOW, WE'S HEADUNS TO WHERES WE'S NEEDUN DA BEST FIGHTAS, AND YOUSE AND REGGIE ARE DA HARDEST HITTERS HERE. RIGHTS NOW, ONE TEAM NEEDUN TA FIGHT, ONE TEAM NEEDUN TA EXPLORES DA PLACE. REGGIE BETTER AT DA FIGHTUN DEN DA EXPLORUN. ALSOS, IFFUN REGGIE GETTUN HIS HEALUNS BACK UPS TA FULLS POWAH, YOUSE NEEDS REGGIE MORE DEN DA OTHERS DO."

Reggie would have snickered at this point if he could have.

"ANYWAY, IT LOOKUNS LIKE DA SUPER-FRIENDLY TA EACH-OTHER KNIFE-EAR AND FISH-LADY HEADUN OVERS TA DA OTHER TWO. DEY KEN PROTECT EACH OTHER AN ARE ALL QUICKUN ENOUGHS TA RUNS FROM DA DANGER."

Reggie cocked his head looking at both Bowser and Nikolai.

"WHY'SUN DEY SO'S FRIENDLYS TO EACH OTHERS?"

Smirking sarcastically a bit, Nikolai stared at the golem.
: "Oh, they are friendly because they wanna shag it up. Nevermind it, we should just make sure they do not get near any bushes."

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

: "Ah, uh... yes. I suppose. Should I be jealous of your America? My husband always gave speeches. His job to instill the kingdom's pride, not mine."

Queen was not really interested in learning about this '21st century'. It sounded awful pompous and full of itself! She never thought much about comparing her land to others because the others were either too far away or destroyed by her own kingdom in no time at all. Of course, this would be very rude to say outright. Maybe it was best to let the fish-girl have her fun "teaching a barbarian".

: "Captain seems distracted. Here's my plan: I seek sticks and stones to carry in battle. You and the boy? Sneak up on foes there. Get a head start."

"That is an excellent plan!" Sadie agreed. She thought the Queen must be a cunning strategist!

((This is the IC thread [PTW], and it's a unanimous agreement on Sadie's :D face. That cute fang. :P))

"Considering that, I wonder if this place has it's own bio-luminescence?..."

"Teamwork. More teamwork. I like that.

"Let's see how fragile I may be in this world."
Aidan said, grinning.

He looked at the rest, noting the difference in...mostly everything.

Why was he the shortest?!

Sadie saw Aidan sizing up the rest of the party, then looking at himself in a critical manner. She knew the look!

"Oh, is it not bad being different Aidan.

I guess you didn't know, but I am considered quite short for a Merwoman...the other mergirls used to call me "Sadie the Minnow"!

Perspective is everything, yes?"
She commented, smiling softly, and looking down on him from above.
