Started as a "human start now" peasant. put my points into reading, swimming dodging, and agility.

----------------

I woke up with a with a terrible headache this morning, which was not the only problem: I was also completely naked, and had apparently spend the night in the refuse stockpile. Too much swamp whiskey again.

while I sneaked back home to get some clothing from the cabinet in the dormitory I struggled to remember what party I had been to the evening before but there was not a single thing I could remember. Somewhat dressed I walked to the well in the middle of the town to get some water to clean the foul taste from my mouth. There were several villagers in the street and they gave me stares that suggested that I must have really misbehaved yesterday. They even pointed at me, and I'm sure I heard whispers.

suddenly one of the village elders stepped up to me and handed me a rope reed bag. "Bralbaard Greengranite" he said, "I suggest you leave town for a while, to think about your actions of yesterday.... If you think of returning, I would suggest you'd bring some proof of heroic deeds, something that outweights the shame and dishonor you brought to yourself and your family..
His deadly cold stare told me it would be unwise to ask how many heroic deeds were needed, but a first guess would be that he would not be easily pleased.
Nobody in town seemed to be in a mood to say goodbye and I left Nationdrinkers followed by angry stares. Quite a bad start to the day.

In the next town I ran into a veteran marksman and woman who were asking around town for meatshields to join them in their quest. Both were local heroes, and when asked, told me they killed several elves, and an assortment of giant creatures and animal men. They were known as Gulgud glistennamed and Asri Quicknessdangled. Since I had to start my heroic deeds somewhere I volunteered to join them. Gulgud looked me up and down and she was seriously considering to reject me, but Asri interupted and said they'd take me along, as meatshields were hard to come by these days.

We travelled for almost a day to some nearby bandit camps, but had to cross several rivers. Since I had learned to swim at a young age this was no problem for me, but we lost Asri somewhere in the first river. It turned out that Asri and Gulgud were no close friends, and were just together for this adventure so no time was lost mourning. We quickly reached the second river, were we ran into an alligator. Gulgud fired arrows at it from the riverside (the beast was still in the water) and looked at me accusingly because I was doing nothing heroic. The arrows were doing little damage, but apparently this was a particularly flimsy alligator, and from my vantage point I could see it lost consiousness when hit with that last arrow. I seized my chance and jumped into the water, screaming dramatically. By splashing around and screaming I hoped to fake that the alligator was still strugling.

It was suprisingly hard to kill the unconcious alligator, I must have stabbed it at least 15 times before it finally died, but this all helped the illusion that I was fighting a battle on life and death.
When I emerged out of the water dragging the dead alligator, Gulgud said she misjudged me, I was a lot braver than she had expected. The trick worked. We butchered the alligator, and to my surprise we found a couple of magnetite gizzard stones in the creatures stomach. I took them as a souvenir.

Gulgud told me a bit more about our current quest, she and Asri had been asking around in town, but none of the villagers had wanted any help. They had given the location of several bandit camps to the northwest and that is where we were going.
We arrived in the first camp around sunset, but found that all the bandits had already been slain. I found a silver mace and some iron greaves among the rubish, an improvement over the gear I had been using. We decided to spend the night, then move to the second camp in the morning.

The next morning we ran into more alligators. Gulgud shot the first alligator in the head, killing it instantly, I tried to trow my dagger and spear at the second alligator, but missed due to my inexperience. Frustrated I trew the gizzard stones I collected earlier at the beast, and:

During the trip to the second bandit camp I killed several other wild animals using the gizard stones. Their weigth and rounded shape made them perfect for the job.

We travelled further towards the second bandit camp, but like the first, it was littered with corpses and scattered rubbish. I walked around searching for something usefull among the junk, when suddenly I was shot from behind by an arrow. It pierced my lung, I turned around clutching my chest: A bandit archer had been hiding behind the trees, and was preparing his crossbow for a second shot. I tried to reach him before he could fire, but he hit me again, and everything turned black. I managed to open my eyes again, and saw Gulgud running away, an arrow stuck in arm, and bleeding, but I knew she'd be fine. The archer was not interested in her, instead he pointed his crossbow at me and released the final shot.

Fucking hell man, you aren't just getting the short end of the stick, you're being beaten with it.

Is your plan really to flush water into hell, and have the CARP marines fight them without threat of flame or disease?  If so, you are awesome, and one of the greatest DF military visionaries I've seen yet ( not that I've seen that many, or any, for that matter )

It's been 4 days and Sappho hasn't replied to this thread, so it' Melkorp's turn now. I'll move Saphho down a couple places on the list.

Huh, that's strange. I downloaded it fine. I can reupload it for you if you want, although I'll wait until Bralbaard responds before doing so.

Can I get an extension on this?
I think the one week limit plus the 3 Legendary skill requirements might be too much for this kind of endeavor.  I'm still going, but nowhere near Legendary yet.
Not dying, for me, takes a whole lot of staring at the screen rubbing my temples and saying "Ok...ok..." while surrounded by xbows & lashers and unable to stand...you get the idea.

Well, I don't mind, but I'm neither the person after you nor the person who made the thread. I know full well how hard it is to get a legendary adventurer. I'd say you can keep going until either Sappho says otherwise, or Hans requests his turn.

EDIT: I suppose it'd be a lot better if you were providing updates. Like, just some general progress "went out and killed these bandits for this guy" updates.
