As many tries as you like; so long as you stick to the one-week limit, you may start as many new adventurers as it takes.

Consider yourself re-added to the list! Because you have been. Also re-added myself. Not sure if I'll actually want to do another turn when the time comes, but it's a definite possibility.

Journal of Rushan Bearsplashes, citizen of This Really Cold Place.

I have grown tired listening to tales of the evils of this world that kept my fathers cowering inside their homes, terrified of the night. I have heard many, and for long my head swam with fear whenever I was to contemplate wandering our own fields. I joined the guard, thinking some training would help me feel safe in this world, that I might fight my way through life. It didn't really help to know that guardsmen were the favorite prey of many foul men and beasts that roamed the countryside to stake claim of their righteous glory. So, I would hunt them. The hunters always bragged of it; "men and women who go hunting for wolves, find them and slay them as they tuck their tails, for being hunted is an unnatural experience for creatures so foul." And, clearly, men who stand around staring into the darkness get their throats slit first by bandits. I would hunt them down! I am Bearsplashes for a reason afterall; my ancestors fought bravely against the night, defending our people from the Bears of the North. But they never hunted them. I would hunt vampires and beast-men alike.

I knew where one of the vampires lived; in a village to the north, where they fed upon our kin's blood and fear, the people long ago given up hope. So, I set out to first claim this vampire's soul for... whoever. I don't really worship. The trip was uneventful, and I arrived around mid-afternoon in the village - one of the two. I don't remember which one they're in actually... but, as soon as I arrived and shouted "Hello? Is this the village of-" I was interrupted by a horrible little shreiking voice from inside one of the huts screaming "I am Nguslu Gengdeng, prepare to die!" I could scarcely believe my rotten luck: it was the infamous goblin general, who ruled over the countryside! I quickly hid behind some nearby bushes as he rushed outside, brandishing his... knife. He was infamous for crushing peon's skulls with a hammer! What, did I interrupt his din-din?

Regardless, I crept away and kept my dealings with the locals quiet, and watched my back; that guy would probably eat me! Later, as I was trying to discuss finding this vampire with one of the locals, we heard screaming and fighting next door. The general and his posse were at it again, and this household was probably gonna be next. Everyone evacuated, and as I ran out in front to help them pass safely, I witnessed something amazing! The farmers had defeated the general's posse, and chased him out of the house, mortally wounded. He ran into the fields, where they dogpiled him and slew him as well. These farmers are right good warriors, for all the fear in their hearts! May Nguslu Stinkhorrors rot forever in the underworld!

Let me know how this works out; I'm very bad at getting in-character or writing fluently.

The general actually ran outside and yelled at me because he was wounded and defeated. I just wrote it up differently. They just massacred his whole crew of elite axemen, who were all wielding knives. That could have been a serious tactical error on their part, yeah...

[ninja edit:]

As soon as I stepped inside one of the houses, another goblin spotted me and attacked me, leading to the entire town ganging up on me. I ran into a house, and got stabbed to death by the same guy that killed Nguslu. Man, these guys are having a riot!

Guess I have to upload the save, now... :-[

Eh, do-over.  I littered the landscape with dead elven adventurers before going with Kon.

Ok, the file's done uploading. While I waited on that, I did start another adventurer and her career has so far been fruitful. Whether or not I can continue that for the sake of the game and upload it or not is Sappho's decision.

I have added a poll! I think it should be up to the players how we deal with dead adventurers. Everyone please cast your vote and we will proceed according to popular opinion.

I voted for the second option; for two goes max. On that note, I'll see if I survive this, and how the poll concludes, and either way I'll probably make a fort (if you'll permit that after two adventurers, too)

two lives. one life to full fill your objectives and the 2nd life for a fortress. if you die then your fortress life is traded for an adventure life.

That sounds like the best of logic, yeah.
