I know one of the rules is No Cheating.
But I'm almost finished with my turn.  I just killed all the Necromancers in a tower and I'm bringing the secrets of life & death to Releasedsouls.

If I can somehow get down the STAIRS.  Can someone please, please take a look at this save and figure out why Kon Bigbathes can't go down this particular set of stairs?  And if it's a bug, could you do whatever it is you guys do when you hack this game and just zap Kon on down those stairs?  Is that even possible?  It would really suck if he starved to death inside that tower.

Here's the save & my Extreme Gratitude in Advance:

EDIT
After many hours, I'm down the stairs: but I don't know why.  (Cntrl) + (>) is supposed to attack down if there are enemies below, but yadda yadda, random multiple keypress was the winner.  Frustrating, but back at it.  Thanks to anyone who took a crack at this!

I believe the turnlist is properly updated - prospective players, please check to make sure your name is on the list.

Tilesets are fine of course. You can make the game look however you want while you play as long as you don't make any changes that will affect the next player.

Cheating to circumvent bugs is fine, if it becomes necessary. Glad you managed to get down those stairs though.

Looking forward to seeing some story soon. :) Good luck on your journey!

Next time, just lie down before descending the undescendable stairs. There was probably a friendly zombie down there, chilling out, but standing up, meaning you couldn't walk through the tile unless you were laying down. I usually have to lie down to get out of towers anyway.

Good to see you finally started the game. The retirement fortress looks great, the idea of having an exhibition hall and private rooms for the heroes is a good one, it will prevent the main hall from becoming too cluttered with junk, while adventurers can still bring anything they want.
Of course I would like to join, if possible.

The retirement home is only a destination. Characters shouldn't be going there unless they are ready to retire. So you could put a necro slab there if you want to, but by the time anyone gets to it they will already be finishing their turn, so there's no reason to become a necromancer.

Also, I forgot to write this initially but I will add it to the first post: the retirement home is officially a NON-VIOLENT place. No fighting allowed on the grounds. So no bringing zombies and such there. In fact, no henchmen either, unless they somehow meet the entry requirements for the home.

Manze and Bralbaard have been added to the turnlist. Now I'd better get working on my Museum turn. :)

"When did you know it was time to retire?"

Milo Riperight and Kon Bigbathe were fairly deep into a barrel of sunshine and a rock pot of dwarven wine respectively, as they strolled the stone roads of Sobirunol.  They were the only humans in residence and spent much of their time together; and anyway their bedrooms were right across the hall from each other in the lofty tower set aside for them and their kind.

Kon Bigbathe took a long pull at his wine crock and gazed a moment over the fields of bubble bulb and feather wood before answering.

"I guess after I killed the dragons.  I mean, I had the slab, you know?"  All I had to do was read it and I'd have two undead, firebreathing dragons as thralls."

Milo Riperight whistled.  "Wow."

"I know!  And I'd left a cave full of dead kobolds just a day's march to the east.  Like hundreds and hundreds of 'em."

"Wow."

"I know!  All I had to do was read the slab and, you know."

"You'd have an army."

"I'd have a fuckin' army.  Undead wight thrall, uh --"

"Zombie," Milo suggested.  Clearly, her companion was unaccustomed to dwarven liquor.

"Right, zombie fuckin' army.  And, you know, who's gonna stop me?"

"Right."

"You?"

Milo considered it.  She'd faced long odds, but nothing like what Kon was proposing.

"And that's when it hit me!" Kon banged his wine crock with one iron gauntlet for emphasis.  "When I realized that the world needs Sobirunol.  A place for all the slabs, and the dragon eggs, and all the other scary stuff, all guarded by legendary heroes!  The more heroes come here, the more stuff they bring, the safer the world is.  So I decided to retire here."

Milo belched mightily, nodded.  She looked around at the white stone complex in the beautiful jungle.

"Unless these dwarves actually only want all the wealth and power in the world."

Kon nodded.  "In which case we've just handed it to them."

The two humans regarded each other suspiciously, then laughed.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Kon's room is in the Human Tower, second floor, first door on right, across from Milo's.  Feel free to check out a book from his extensive and hilarious library!  The pink volume on the table is particularly recommended.

In the dwarves' underground garden, against the east wall, lies Kashi's body in a half circle of large gems.  Feel free to add stones of your own when paying your respects.

Kon's donations to the Exhibition Hall were two more dragon eggs and one oh so heavy slab with the secrets of life and death on it.
Kon's legendary skills were Swordsmanship, Fighting, Armor Using, and Observing.
Kon fully explored Decentwheels, a necromancer's tower, as well as a couple of caves with passages to the underworld.
Kon never read the slab.

Thanks, this was really fun and my best Adventurer ever

WOW! You are welcome to replace screen shots with comics anytime! Brilliantly drawn, excellent story, and very respectable addition to our retirement home. Would you like to be put down for another turn? Because I'd love to see you take one!

I've updated the first post and I'll message Eric Blank to take his turn.
