Sharpshooter sounds fun(mainly because that's what I was aiming to be), but then I haven't checked out the rules yet.
What is Fieldcraft, exactly? And what other options are there? Something to help us regroup/recover after a hard landing ending with us scattered all over an enemy base, possibly injured, would be good.

That would be Fieldcraft, I think. It's essentially being able to move well through a certain kind of area.

Well, i do know the rules (all the games of the WH40K rolelaying game serie have similar rules) and sharpshooters is incredibly good. Specially taking in count that this game uses a system based on that of Black Crusade for using experience. With Sharpshooter increasing our ballistic skill will be very cheap.

Sharpshooter is useful, but remember as drop troopers you'll be usually very close to the enemy and having to survive behind enemy lines at times. It's also pretty expensive, leaving you with very few points to spend on Special Equipment Doctrines.

Drop Troopers automatically get the Catfall talent, so if your gravchute doesn't deploy you'll have a better chance of not dying right away when you hit the ground.

So far we have 2 votes for Fieldcraft (Urban), 1 vote for Hardened Fighters, and 1 vote for Sharpshooter.

I'm not really certain what I want to vote for. If there's something else we should be saving points(?) for, we might have to take something cheaper. Overall I think Fieldcraft sounds pretty handy, followed by Hardened Fighters(which I'm guessing makes us tougher).

Well, after the Training Doctrine selection there is the Special Equipment section (Right below training doctrines.). Stuff like Augmetics, Demolitions, etc which will give you some equipment bonuses.

Yup, you gain +3 Weapon Skill and you gain the Street Fighter talent. Street Fighter lets you add half of your weapon skill to your damage when you inflict critical damage with any weapon that is the size of a knife or smaller (Such as your bare hands.). You'll also be able to replace the standard knife that you receive by default with a melee weapon of common availability or higher (For example a chainsword.)

Just a clarification: does choosing regiment type count in the 'only three doctrines' limit? I.e., do we have three or two doctrines remaining?

Also, is it me or Hardened Fighters is kinda OP? The only doctrine that gives a direct characteristic bonus, a weapon upgrade AND a trait and in addition is the cheapest one out there... Anyway, I vote either Hardened or Sharpshooter.
