I've been wanting to try running this game for awhile, having been somewhat recently released as a beta and I figured I'd get some interest here.
I'm sure a good amount of people here are aware of Warhammer 40k, so I won't go much into detail. Basically Only War is a new Warhammer 40k RPG that is currently in beta. The players are Imperial Guardsmen, members of a billions strong army that fights for mankind killing any heretics or xenos in their way. Your characters will be apart of a regiment that the group will generate, and you'll all be apart of a squad in that regiment. Despite the title of the game, it's not going to be just combat. I'll be including a good mix of both combat and social situations, along with a few surprises along the way.
If you want in on this, I'm looking for four to five players (Possibly six, but that's stretching it.). If you have access to the rulebook then great, if not then just send me a PM and I'll help you out. If you played other Warhammer 40k RPG's then the base mechanics are relatively the same, and you should do fine. If you're unfamiliar with the rules, then I'd be more than happy to help you out. Feel free to join if you have no knowledge of Warhammer 40k, I'm totally willing to give a decent explanation of the lore to give you a good idea of the setting.
If you're interested just post that you want in, along with what time you're available. Once I get enough players, I'll guide you guys through Regiment generation and you'll then be able to create your characters. Along with using IRC I might also use a website called roll20.net , which is basically an online map similar to maptools that you can use to run games. Considering that combat can get a bit confusing at times without a map of some sorts, it could come in handy.
