Using DF & DT in Wine on Xubuntu 12.04
« on: July 22, 2012, 12:48:33 pm »

Hi,
I've downloaded the latest Windows versions of Dwarf Fortress and Dwarf Therapist, and am trying to get them to work in WINE. I've put them in the Program Files folder in the default WINE prefix, but when I run DT it says it can't find the PEB address of Dwarf Fortress. Can anybody help me with this problem?

Thanks,
GoldenBadger

<<Not an answer!>>

Why are you using WINE by chance, when there is already a linux version?

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...

Because otherwise I couldn't use Dwarf Therapist.  The latest .deb packages are only for Ubuntu 11, and DT for Linux is annoying.

Build Dwarf Therapist yourself. It takes five minutes.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I should really make a script for this sort of thing; it takes only a short time to do. I'll add it to my DF Autoget post later.
EDIT2: Done, see the link in my signature. Also created an [EXOTIC] tag manager, because why not.

I've written bash scripts to make using DF easier under Linux!

Sorry for the late reply but thanks very much! I'll give that a try now.
