Entry level peeps, like me, don't have the ability to create new pages in the wiki. Which is normally no problem at all, but means we can't start new discussions on wiki articles that don't already have a talk page. If a wiki editor could just add a token talk page to current wiki articles that would be great, thanks.

That certainly seems to be the case. You get the "No non-economic hard stone available" if you try to craft stone and nothing but ice is available. Ice isn't listed as an economic stone, so you can't change that setting in the status screen either.  Accordingly I'm removing the 'verify' tag. ~~~~

I seem to have lost the ability to create new pages. As late as March of this year I started a new talk page (http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2012_Talk:Adder), but earlier this week, the software won't let me.  Unfortunately, I can't remember the talk page I wanted to start.

Once you have made 10 edits, you have the right to create pages.  If you want to make 10 edits to your user page, that's fine by me.
