Two things:

1. I replaced the word for "Druid" in the string dump with "Arcane Weapon User". I assume that suits your needs, for the magic weapons? :)

2. Your first post says that 1.28 is included in MDF, actually its 1.32. Should be the latest version, as far as I can tell.

Edit: 3. Oh.. and I figured out how to do friendly undead. Raise an army of spirit warriors? :)

v1.33 is posted, basically it is all bug and compatibility fixes.

It's intended for the upcoming MDF3b -- It removes jagged arrows and small bullets, so it'll mess up pistols ammo if you apply to an existing install of MDF3a or older.

there are slabs and coffins, no change from vanilla in that regard.

Mason's Workshop builds the slab, Craftorc's Worshop engraves it
Mason's Workshop builds stone coffins
Glass Furnace builds glass coffins
Carpenters Workshop builds wooden casket
Forge builds metal sarcophagi

All of which can put orcs to rest.

Plus there should be ruby-glass & cobalt-glass coffins at the Ashland Glassblower if you need an over the top public funereal display for the Glorious Warchief.

I'll be hopefully finishing up 1.40 over  the weekend.  Here's the outline, for comments.

+ Reorg to separate steampunk/future tech from regular Heavy weapons. 

*  New building: Steamfoundry -- replaces orcish access to Dwarven Trap Engineer
*  Undecided whether this requires blueprint, or just automaton parts?  Add automaton/gnome raid to DD?
**  Aluminum -> Mechanisms
**  Titanium -> Light armor plates
**  Cloth + armor plates = alternate process to make lamellar or shellplate type material
**  Brass/Aluminum Mechanism + Soulgem = Automaton gizmo (alternatively, loot from dead automatons)
**  Automaton gizmo + Oktane juice + etc. => Steamhammer, Chainaxe, Vibroblade, Dakkadakka gun
**  Batch produce basic traps
**  With Dwarven tools:  upgrade traps
**  Move any advance golem/landmine stuff from Goblin tinkerer

*  New building:  Blacksmoke furnace -- replaces orcish access to Dwarven Crucible
** Oil shale -> Oktane juice (refined fuel)
** Tubers (10) -> Oktane juice
** Oktane juice -> coke (2)
** Flamethrower
** Fire arrows
** Stickbombs
** Sappers' Satchel
** Synthsilk (polyester cloth)
** Remove rust

+  Give the temples some little bonuses to make them more distinct, and give some benefit outside the Dreamwalkers' caste
+  Make sure reagents for each temples' Ritual are different (not so many gems)

*  Totem:  Totem + blood  + largegem = Soulgem

*  S&S:  Cure vampirism
*  S&S:  Fabricate gold blunt weapons (morningstar & hammer javelins for atlatl)
*  S&S:  Consecrate weapons with some anti-undead rune (soulgem)

*  ICT:  Ice arrows
*  ICT:  Ice claws?
*  ICT:  Cold immunity item (parka?)

*  SC:  Poultry -> Arctic condors
*  SC:  Canine -> Direwolf
*  SC:  Cat -> Sabrecat

*  AoS:  Auroch Bull -> Minotaur (soulgem)
*  AoS:  Dreamwalker/etc. -> Ancient Warlock (lich) (soulgem)

nope, i'm not sure! that's why I ask ^^ 

would that really require knowledge of molecules to invent?  The ancients had lots of sophisticated metallurgy and ceramics without the kind of atomic science we use today.  I do feel like orcs would like messing around with oil.

I looked up a bit what they did in the real world with pitch/bitumen in classical times and. other than greek-fire or pitch weapons, a lot of it isn't relevant to the DF world yet.  Illumination, waterproofing.  Anyway, I just try to think of something that would be at least plausible.  If anyone has any suggestions at all for chemistry industries, I'm interested :D

Orc Fortress v1.40 Beta is currently the latest version.  It phases out the Dwarf-style crucible and trapmaker and introduces the Orcish Blacksmoke Furnace (medium tech: oil, acid, fire & pitch weapons, chemistry) and Steamfoundry (gnome/steampunk level tech:  advanced tinkering, synthetic light armor, golems and steamweapons).  It also introduces soulgems, atlatls, and brings back the Minotaur.

1.40 is an early Beta, testing so far consists only of generating worlds in MDF3b with clean error log. It will cause duped raws if installed on older MDF version, because MDF3b changes some of the file names!
