I like either Germania or Scythia since they both have female units (screeching women, ho!). That really adds to the "warlike horde on the move" feel.

By sacking, do you mean only extermination or is slavery allowed? With only two years I imagine you will need to do enslave a lot of settlements to make the capital grow sufficiently.

RTR, RS, EB and so on change a lot of stuff, including graphics.

There are, however, some smaller mods that only add units instead of changing things. Extended Greek to name one. (watch out not to mistake it with Extended Cultures, it makes city management and character dev. much, MUCH trickier)
