I like sound of the Drones' shoulder cannon but I'd probably go with the Wyr because they seem to have a more !!FUN!! personality.

Question, is this online-only or something? I can't tell. If it is pure multiplayer, then ignore this entry, only because I have no means of playing it, and won't have any for the forseeable future.

It's single player.

I would probably play the Wyr just because I like not knowing whether things are actually going to work.

I'd go with robots, at least first. Space faring robots sound pretty interesting. The other factions look stupid or they are too common looking.

I like the Wyr. Insane scientists with unpredictable weapons and an ability to place support turrets sound fun. This game looks great. Thanks for the giveaway!

Ok let me see

-Four playable nations
-Space battles
-Land Battles
-Planet exploration

I would play the free nations because I'd want a more vanilla approach to the game while at the same time seeing how they are done differently.

Yeah I will admit I am rather boring that way.

They fall under my "I don't like to be evil" aspect.

I will ignore Dungeon Keeper II... I liked to be evil there.

Wow looks amazing, finally a space game where you can interact with planets up close and personal. I think I will choose the Drones merely for that fact that theres not many games where you can rampage through the galaxy at the head of a unstoppable army of killer robots and really whats not to like about that.

It's a hard choice between the Wyr and the Drones for me. I think I'd enjoy the Drones playstyle more. Lots of guns and berserk shooting sprees are always fun.

Though from a lore standpoint the Wyr definatly win. A race of insane cyborg scientists is just plain awesome. Plus their playstyle has "Quirky dialog." How can I not chose the ones with insane dialogue?

So yeah, the Wyr for me I think.

This looks very interesting indeed. Lots of scope, love the ideas, all that's too see is if the execution is good.

---

I would go for the Free Nations, for a number of reasons. Firstly, they are the last remnants of original humans, and what's better than defending the last of humanity?
Second, electroblade? Who wouldn't want one of those. Thirdly, the fighter craft look fantastical. And finally, I'd just make a lot of Star Trek quotes, because you can never have enough Star Trek quotes.
And now, because I feel bad just posting this little, have a little bit of story.

---

Humanity. We had a stab at it. We tried democracy, we tried to all live together peacefully. We just tried to get through each day without the threat of nuclear attack. Suffice to say, we failed. But it's gone far beyond that now. We are too far gone now. All that is left of our democratic society is forced to pull together just to defend our little patch of the galaxy.
On one side, the Salvation. Traitorous offshoots of humans. In Earth's dying moments they were created which left them with amazing powers such as reflecting bullets. Lots of fancy stuff to protect their weak bodies; still a damn sight better than us.
The next enemy; Drones. Ha, the classical robots. Created to fight in the war, before deciding they wanted something for their own. Their own moon, planet, system. Now they want the galaxy, just like everyone else in this joint. They're the opposite to the Salvation; slow, lumbering robots that can take a hell'uva beating. And as if these two weren't bad enough, there's another.
The Wyr, another crazy experiment of humanity. Another mistake. These androids are masters of technology, beating down our walls with bombs and soldiers with sentry guns. While unpredictable, they are still very dangerous.
So, with these foes baying for our blood, I send my message.
Run. Run and don't stop running. If any remaining members of the Free Nations hear me, don't remain here to fight. The fight is over. The fight was over a long time ago. Now all we can hope is to escape this sector and rebuild a home elsewhere, where the denizens of this galaxy might leave us in peace. Maybe for a week or more. I'm sorry, but we have no other options.

What a nifty looking game, I'll try my luck at this giveaway.

It'd be a pretty difficult decision between the Salvation and the Free Nations. Though I think I the Free Nations just barely win my favor, due to me always being a fan of the idea of leading humanity's rise from ruin after being driven to near-extinction. Victory is always so much more fulfilling when you have seemingly insurmountable odds stacked against you.

By background, the Free Nations. I like the name, I like playing as a human, at least my first time around.

By combat style, either the Salvation or the Drones. I'm fine with the fast kiting strategy, though having weaker soldiers AND weaker weapons is a dealbreaker, so I'd probably play the Drones. As much as winning by skill is fun, winning by sheer, bloody-minded mass destruction is even more fun. There's nothing like wading into the center of an enemy formation and coming out the other side battered, half-functional, but leaving a trail of carnage as far as your weapons can reach.

Not entering, but this looks like a pretty cool game.  I'm off to have a gander at some LPs and may well pick up a copy.

Now I am embarassed.

I thought to enter I had to list four features and say which faction I'd want to play.

Mind you my answer is still humans. I always start with humans or the most vanilla... it is in many ways the key to seeing the quality in a game. The exception I guess is the Dune series... I like the Ordos to the point where I BARELY played any of the other factions.
