Have you ever had a moment in DF where one (or more) of your dwarves do something so awesome that you HAVE to tell EVERYONE about it? Now's your chance. Here's an example to get you started-

I had a dwarf by the name of Kogan (I forgot his last name.). After watching his friends and family die at the hands of the enemy, he struggled for about two years alone in the wilderness searching for whatever plants he could get his hands on to eat along with burying the dead. He suffered through many trials (At one point of time, I missed a trade caravan because I wasn't paying attention and on top of that, the migrants that were supposed to show up never did.). When the migrants finally showed up over two years later, he helped to rebuild the settlement, and with his visionary leadership, the fortress flourished.

My fortress was attacked by a forgotten beast. A blue garnet quadruped that breathed deadly dust. The dust would cause near instant death by blood loss. My elite military squads could barely chip it, my miner squad only got 2 hits in before it killed them all and my useless migrant squad died before they could harm it. I had one dwarf left. A useless migrant. A wax-worker. Her name was Adil Channelsilvered. I decided to draft her into a squad, so I could use military commands to get her away from the forgotten beast. She saw it, ran up to it, and bisected it with a single punch. She had no combat related skills before that moment. Eventually, she went Stark Raving Mad and ran into a group of angry animals. She did not survive.

Unfortunately, I can't remember any epic stories of mine, but I still think Urist would win this award a thousand times over.

Then it happened. Then I cringed. Then I picked it up and beat him to death with it, and then his buddies, too.
You beat a man to death with his dick?

Sadly, I don't have nearly enough dwarves dying in awesome ways. I could write a good-sized book on the dwarves who died of their own stupidity, of course, but who can't?

Zotan(?) Captain of the guard, Legendary Swordsdwarf, armored in all steel left the great rocksalt tower of MistyHelms to slay an invading siege of over 100 goblins and their mounts.  But as soon as the bridges were lowered, scores of civilian dwarves ran out into the open to collect the cage traps full of dingos.  While the goblins were busy killing the civilians Zotan killed them all.

Sadly he went berserk after most of his family dying, and finished off the fortress with his sword.

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.
