"Hey, Bardum."
"Aye?"
"Do ye know animal care?"
"Cannae say I do. Diagnosis, a wee bit.

"Though, I think I can try, anatomy and wounds are similar, I guess."

Bardul shall try to heal the Eagles or alleviate their wounds. Since he is not an animal caretaker, he shall just treat the superficial injuries, being a knowledgeable doctor.

Aggressive driving.

"Can they fly?"
"Not feasible, lad. A broken wing entails unsymmetrical patterns, as well as pain."
"Curses."

Meh, going to lose anyway.

((My kitten-harnessing action seems to have either been unnoticed or annulled. Is it forbidden to upgrade engines on the fly?))

"Alright, Etur, cease fire! You did good. When we get out of the blizzard, shoot at Doc Aurist! Shoot his wheels off - with rocks! The cats we'll plug into the harness, and we'll do that right now!"
Both Etur and I upgrade our cat-harness-engine-thingy by tying every spare kitten into it for massive speed.
Drive normally.

Have cripple (aussi)  make a makeshift wooden spear.
Move full speed ahead. Taunt boars with cat on a stick.

I hear a piranha is good eating.  I have a spear; I'll be fine!
The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

Have cripple (aussi)  make a makeshift wooden spear.
Move full speed ahead. Taunt boars with cat on a stick.
Aussi quickly makes something you could call a spear. The cat initially goes on with the plan, but proceeds to betray you and jump onto Urist's car.

+1 tile. No new cats. However, your kitten does grow up.

Henchdwarves 1 and 2 throw kittens EVERYWHERE around me!
11 of your cats grow up. You spent the new 10 seconds or so chasing all the kitties

around your car.
No new cats are born. Your cats seem sick of the prospect of

giving birth.
No new cats for at least 3 turns. No tiles, they were too exhausted. That exhaustion

has temporarily passed now.

THE CHOSEN OF ARMOK! BWAHAHAHA! NO GREATER GLORY COULD A MERE DWARF HAVE EVER HOPED TO ACHIEVE! INITIATE

AGGRESSIVE DRIVING! SHOW THEM THE TRUE POWER OF "BLOOD BULLS", THE VERY PETS OF ARMOK, GOD OF BLOOD. And, if

it's possible, conduct poetic revenge against Wolfchild - AW, WHO AM I KIDDING? BLIMEY BASTARD PASSED US ALL.

IF WE REACH HIM...OH, IF WE REACH HIM, SMASH INTO HIS CART WITH THE FURIOUS RAGE OF A DWARF WHO'S PET KITTEN'S

CORPSE JUST GOT EATEN BY AN ELF!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Your boars are angry enough as is. No speed boost.

They do try and fail to attack Ardul's eagles though.
Your boars power through the

snowstorm. +1 tile.

Drive Cautiously Fire A rock at the undead.
Cleopatra, Babble inanely at anyone getting close enough to shoot at us

Back on the pump Stalin, or do you want more magma-meds?

The rock almost harmlessly bounces off a horse.

+1 tile. You plow through a thinner section of the horde

that's composed of mostly smaller animals. A few stray body parts also fly off and help clear the path as

well.

"Hey, Bardum."
"Aye?"
"Do ye know animal care?"
"Cannae say I do. Diagnosis, a wee bit.

"Though, I think I can try, anatomy and wounds are similar, I guess."

Aggressive driving.

"Can they fly?"
"Not feasible, lad. A broken wing entails unsymmetrical patterns, as well as pain."
"Curses."

Meh, going to lose anyway.
Can't seem to do much right now, but here we go. He tears some bits of cloth off his

clothes and wraps them tightly around the wing. It should hold.
The

eagles want revenge. +1 speed.
+2 tiles. You start flying, although you're a bit

lower than you'd like.

((My kitten-harnessing action seems to have either been unnoticed or annulled. Is it forbidden to upgrade

engines on the fly?))

"Alright, Etur, cease fire! You did good. When we get out of the blizzard, shoot at Doc Aurist!

Shoot his wheels off - with rocks! The cats we'll plug into the harness, and we'll do that right now

!"

Both Etur and I upgrade our cat-harness-engine-thingy by tying every spare kitten into it for massive speed.
Drive normally.
4 cats grow up, and all the cats and kittens get tied on. You notice an immediate increase

in speed. +2 tiles. No new cats. Now that you can see

wolfchild, you shoot! It's a direct hit to a wheel! A large part of

the wheel chips off, destabilizing the car slightly.

Offer a prayer to Armok, and promise to SACRIFICE A HENCHMAN TO HIM if he gives my boars the SPEED OF TITANS. Also, just drive normally, since my rage has worn off.

"Bardum, what are ye doing?!"
"Testing thar wings."
"Ye said they were broken!"
"Not precisely."

Ardul turned his gaze downwards, and spotted several white creatures.

"Undead?"
"Aye."
"We aren't trying to evade them?"
"Nay, brother. We land on them."

MARTIAL TRANCE!

Eagles will glide as far as they can until the 8th tile.

Order the Eagles into the stone chassis.

From our point, drop on the undead horde!

((Hmm. It seems that you're using Notepad to write turns, correct? Maaaan. You need to switch to something more usable. Notepad++, vim, hell, even WordPad... anything is better than Notepad.))

Against all odds, Ardul Irith's eagles were catching up with the Ballsy Ride. Calling that 'strange' was putting it softly: Etur's calculations showed that it was physically impossible for a bunch of wounded eagles to have the same speed as his cart. The eagles probably got the decimal point wrong: they tended to be that way.
Driving Focus: stick very, very carefully to the zombie-free path wolfchild has so kindly carved for me.

UPD: ((@Person: do Giant Eagles by themselves fly faster than they do as cart engines? Asking because I have a totally sweet 'aircraft carrier' build in mind, with a grappling hook and everything. The only major problem would arise if the 'fighters' were slower than the 'carrier'.))
