I went ahead with the sorceress (because my shop is always full of food and healing items in Recettear :P ), but I hit a new problem. How do I refill the crafting materials? I'm out of the stuff required to make my only recipe and can't figure out how to get more.

EDIT: Never mind! I just needed to finish the first day.

You can refill at the beginning of each new day (it's basically impossible to miss, there's a big full screen popup). It might be worth upgrading the size of your stock, too, so that you don't run out as quickly once you get to refill.

Edit:Ninja figured it out. :P

And on Day 2 (or maybe level 2?) you'll get a second worker for free, as well.

I have Tailor and Sorceress. Sorceress is nice because she can make boatloads of stuff quickly, and it can be suggested in place of anything that is missing without too much difficulty (I have trained my haggling skill and the items are consumables). The Tailor is able to make clothing, which is applicable to pretty much every class that comes in, and can make decent selling stuff at decent speeds.

Yeah, I have a sorceress and tailor as well. My tailor is mostly researching, while healing potions and dust sell like proverbial hotcakes.

I've joined the guild and am throwing improvement points to whomever I see. Level 50 now.

Wow, you have a lot of things for my blacksmith to do... tossed in the points I had.

I can't tell what kind of game this is like from this thread. You have a shop, and craftspeople, and time limits, and supplies, and its not making much sense reading it. Can someone explain it please?

Lemme see, ya start the game by buying a shop to sell stuff in, this is just a plot thing and done for you. Then you pick a starting craftsman to employ. Sorceress makes consumable items to sell to people (think potions and stuff, this game takes place in an RPGish world), the blacksmith makes metal equipment, the tailor makes light and medium equipment, and the carpenter makes some wooden weapons and bows. You tell what the craftsmen to make, and maybe level them up and such, and sell their crafts to random people, while you try to stay afloat.

There's more random stuffb ut that's the main gist of things.

I'm in as Sensei, thought I'd go for a carpenter because nobody else is doing it. Hopefully I can join, I got a 500 Internal Server Error from the email validation link.

It's essentially a Flash version of Recettear minus the dungeon delving and plus craftsmen that make the things you sell, if that helps at all.

Game's difficulty suddenly shot up quite a few notches. Over half of the customers now bring unfavorable deals, often by quite a large margin (I'm talking like 70 gold under value for a basic healing potion), and despite sinking all of my skill points into bargaining haggling rarely works. I'm still only level 7 here, don't have a thug and can't even begin to afford another workshop to get another craftsman.

Yeah, it'll do that. Sinking points into haggling is the right course of action, it's an excellent deal. Don't be afraid to take an unfavorable deal while you're getting adjusted to the new "tier". Some gold is better then none.
