One of my minor goals in life is actually to give someone a very sensual and intimate back/shoulder massage, and while doing so, casually mention how easy it would be to snap their neck.

Can't say the homicidal ones have ever made me freeze up, though I have occasionally found myself smiling/chuckling, simply from noticing how surreal it is that the person next to me could be dead in seconds, and how much of an impact it would have on so many lives, all with a single moment's decision. Doesn't really help my "I'm totally not a creepy person" argument, though...

Yeah, it doesn't seem that these are exactly rare (unless we're all just screwed up on this forum :P).

Go and seek a shrink if you think you might actually act upon them, otherwise you're cool.

I used to have these sorts of thoughts all the time when I was a kid. Back then I also had less impulse control, and my childhood wasn't the best. I've only recently been getting them with any sort of frequency, although this has been a rather stressful year.

I'd be pretty desperate to accept help from a psychologist, They're worse than dentists.

Sometimes I go on tangents to people I know on how I could totally be a psychopath or have a murderous alternate personality and how they'd never know the truth until it was too late, and how even telling them all that could just be another strategy to throw them off from the truth because they wouldn't expect an actual crazy person to hypothetically muse on it in front of them. Hypothetically, of course.

I'm fairly certain snapping necks with your hands is a lot more difficult than movies would have you believe.

Very common and normal occurrence most likely. I come up with these stupid ideas all the time which is a minor annoyance but nothing Id worry about.

Unless I suddenly suffer from an extreme loss of restraint, and actually decide to follow through with my implied assassination attempt on the receiver of said massage, I hardly see how that would be an issue.

Do it, do it! Let go of the restraints of herd-morality! Become an ubermensch in a single act of neck-twistedness!

I'm pretty sure that is not how you're supposed to become the ubermensch.

I must say i'm surprised, i didn't know this was a normal thing. I've found myself haunted by various abhorrent thoughts from time to time, the worst of them involving inflicting severe physical harm upon others. I find it distressing when my brain suddenly goes "hey why don't you punch that guy in the back of his head??" or "hey why don't you take that knife and stab someone with it??", because i'm normally both compassionate and non-violent. Perhaps worst of all, i feel some kind of tingling sensation in the limb my brain wants to commit the action. You know, the kind of tingling that occurs when you're actively trying to resist doing something habitual. I've never acted upon these thoughts though, thank goodness. I'm glad this doesn't mean i'm a budding insane murderer.

When I meet someone, especially when that someone is someone I'm supposed to smile and nod at, I get a little voice that sounds a lot like mine screaming obscenities in the back of my head. I never listen to it, though.

So yeah, hooray, if you guys feel it too, I'm not crazy.

Anyone else experience anything similar?
Occasional wondering of basically what's already been mentioned. Although that's rare.

One thing that really sincerely bugs me, is that whenever I have a book - any book, piece of text, important files... If you can read it and there's water nearby, I get intrusive thoughts telling me: "Hey, you see that water there? It'd be a great idea to test how waterproof paper is..."

This one still bugs me.

Sometimes I get the urge to go out in the woods and fight a wild animal to the death, just to see if I could do it. You know, prove my manly power or somesuch.
I also sometimes wonder how many knives I could shove into my chest before bleeding out.

I swear a lot more in my head than out loud. My thought-voice sounds like how I imagine Karkat Vantas to sound.

I don't have 'urges', but I do have 'realizations'.

So instead of Hey, jump in front of the car, it'll be fun! it's I could jump in front of that car right now. I'm gonna die! Please don't jump in front of the car!

So... I'm not crazy? What a relief, I would randomly get those type of thoughts all the time. Most of the time, I would just chuckle and ask what is wrong with my brain to tell me that kind of thing. (I'm usually alone when these thoughts happen)
