Spring Wrap-up

After a long winter your people get back to harvesting resources and sowing crops

Dariush harvests 3 Food
Toaster harvests 3 Food
micelus harvests 2 Food
Scelly9 harvests 1 Food

Dariush Gains 2 Stone and 1 Goods
Toaster Gains 1 Wood and 3 Stone
micelus Gains nothing this Season
Scelly9 Gains 1 Wood and 1 Stone

Dariush and Toaster feed their people 4 Food. All other players feed their Populations 3 Food. No one went hungry this season.

With the warming weather your people recover.

Summer of the Second year arrives

Current Turn Order:
  • Toaster
  • micelus
  • Scelly9
  • Dariush

Event: You are surprised by a small group of Raiders who attack your settlement!

This is our first combat!

There are 2 dice worth of Raiders.

You will each need to PM me with all of the population that you want to risk in combat. For each Raider die there will be a Battle. Each population committed will participate in battle against a single die. For each battle you participate in that is won, you will gain a respect. However, any of your people who fail to beat the Raiders will be weakened even if the overall battle is won.

If a battle is lost, the Raiders will get to Plunder one of your settlements for each battle they win.

I will roll a d6 for each Population in a battle as well as 1 for the Raider. Raiders win on ties.

Without stables, do warriors get no battle bonus at all?

Warriors get a +1 to their Roll in battle. Stables allow Warriors to attack before anyone else does, thus giving that player a chance to steal all of the Respect for themselves.

I think you forgot to mention the +1 bonus. ;)

Also, how many battles do we have to win to win the 'overall' battle?

Also, I'll use my craftsman and my laborer on B21 to defend.

So I did. I'll fix that.

They're raiding, so there isn't an overall Win or Lose. It's just a question of how many of them make it into your settlements to plunder before they escape.

I just need Scelly9 to PM me his choices and we can have some exciting combat. :)

Oh, and Dariush, in the future you need to PM your people to me. The idea is that you never quite know how many people everyone else is going to risk in combat. Not a big deal this time, since there are only 2 Raider battles, but it can make a big difference with a full raid of 5.

Here are the Defenders for everyone:

Toaster: Laborer with Valor Tales card (automatic 6)
Micelus: Warrior and Farmer
Scelly9: Laborer
Dariush: Craftsman and Laborer

There are two Raiders attacking, so these defenders need to be split between them.

Micelus' Warrior must be placed first, and is against the First Raider group
Toaster places next due to turn order, and his Laborer must go against the Second Raider group to even things out.

Micelus, where do you want your Farmer? You can stack him with your Warrior to help ensure that you win that fight, or you can put him with Toaster's to try and gain Respect for both fights.

Scelly9 chooses next and then Dariush needs to place both of his.

Current Battle:
Raider 1: micelus Warrior
Raider 2: Toaster Laborer (6)

Wait, everyone defends against two total raiders? Damn, I thought it was two per player.

Laborer goes with Micelus, Craftsman goes with Toaster.

Battle Order:
Raider 1: micelus Warrior, micelus Farmer, Dariush Laborer
Raider 2: Toaster Laborer (6), Scelly9 Laborer,  Dariush Craftsman

Results Battle 1: 1(+1), 1, 1  Raiders: 3
Results Battle 2: 6, 2, 3      Raiders: 2

Unprepared for the swiftly moving Raiders, the Warriors and Clansmen of micelus and Dariush are taken by surprise and quickly routed.

The other group of Raiders, however, does not fare as well. Toaster's men show great Valor, rushing to the aid of Scelly9's clansmen who have taken the brunt of the Raider attack. Dariush's Clansmen close in from behind to seal the Raiders fates. Few of them escaped that battle with their lives.

Back at the farmsteads, though, the first group of Raiders ransacks Scelly9's well stocked larders, making off with some Food before melting back into the woods.

Aftermath:

micelus's Warrior and Farmer are Weakened.
    Dariush's Laborer is Weakened
    Scelly9's Laborer is Weakened

Toaster, Scelly9, and Dariush gain 1 Respect each for helping to drive off one of the Raider groups.

Scelly9 loses 1 Food to Plundering, since he had the most stockpiled.

It is now the action phase. Toaster, you're up.

I think it compares individual numbers- since none of them beat the three, the group lost.  Making it additive would make it extremely easy to win.

That is correct.

Oh, and yeah, you need to place the Kin you called for. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
