I don't really think an ad of Dwarf Fortress would increase awareness at all seeing as how the blog post is all about Dwarf Fortress.

Eh, it serves as a handy link back to this site, besides I do plan to do other games in what is now looking like the far future (which would be why I put the topic here and not in community games and stories.)

Also I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're the one that asked to be dwarfed. Well consider it done.

Of course to be fair this means I'll have to dwarf anybody that asks now. A note to potential dwarfies, don't expect to live very long since I'll execute a dwarf for damn near anything.

Oh and watch out, I have a complete disregard for safe working conditions.
And keep an eye on the dangerous wildlife.
It's also been awhile since I've set anything on fire, so you'd have to watch out for that too.

Now that I think about it there's a lot of things that will likely kill you.

At the moment I have about 34 or so dwarves available, but I'm using one to test my anti-sleep chamber. So I don't expect him to live much longer, first come first serve etc, etc.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Edit: Actually there are only 30 dwarves, I've been busy it seems.

Sorry for the lack of an update yesterday, but as I explained on the blog I can finally work on my games again, so I wanted to do some catching up on my current project.

Part 13 is up, in this one the castle is no more.

Edit: Sadly FPS death has set in despite my efforts, so I'll throw the save onto my thumb drive for when I get my good computer fixed.

Let's Play: Deus Ex
« Reply #20 on: August 08, 2012, 10:22:42 pm »

In the interest of keeping myself somewhat busy I've decided to do standard LPs of games my backup can actually handle until I can get my good computer fixed or replaced.

So the first game? Deus Ex, aka that game you probably just started installing.

So, like the post asks, what will I be specializing in? Oh and I suppose you can name the character if you want.

Remove one rank of pistol training. You will get free points and the specialization will return after you start the game. And never choose swim because its useless. You should rise machine gun or stealth based skills i guess

I believe it was fixed.
Also : No. Don't do that.

I'm guessing you didn't notice that all the images have alt text.  :P

Also : No. Don't do that.

Don't worry, I won't be cheating.

Edit:
Ok that problem I ran into in the first update is a symptom of a major problem, also the screenshots come out way to dark.
Luckily I've found a program that will let me adjust it in bulk so now I'm playing with it to find the right values to use.
Also I can just use the screenshot function built into Deus Ex itself, just another reason to consider it one of the best games ever I suppose.

Double Edit:
Except the built in screenshot taker thingy doesn't work on conversations, this is turning out to be really complicated.

So I've been trying to fix the Deus Ex issues for a while now with no progress, so I think it's time to call it quits and pick a different game.

On the bright side I now have a lot more experience with fixing up screenshots.

So I've narrowed it down to a few choices, and I figure I should to leave the final choice up to the mighty and wise forum people of Bay12. And yes I tested these games, unlike some people I can actually learn from my mistakes.

Space Rangers 2 (Yes, I finally gave in and bought the Steam version.)

The Geneforge Saga (yes ALL of them)

Tropico Reloaded (The first one, not that weird pirate one.)

I thought the idea of the blog was for you to build stuff in creative games.

I know, but I can't do that now since my good computer burned out and my backup is a little on the old side, thus it can not handle any of my sandbox games.

So I'm looking for something else to do in the meantime.

Besides, I'd technically be building something in Tropico wouldn't I?

Good point! I vote Tropico. If you play it, you should treat all of your citizens like they're dwarves.

You mean murder them randomly while forcing them to build something stupid?
