Well. I guess multi-tile creatures would have to be a thing for tentacles to work, anyway.
Truth is I just wanted to think of something. Most generic fantasy beasties are already in the game in some form. :-\

I'd go for many, not most, lol.  You're obviously not in my headspace when I'm dreaming.

Then again, what game play addition would a fabric based creature that becomes enraged by you farting in bed bring?  Just sayin'

If I could donate, and only donate for one... I guess I'd choose the one I think has most impact on gameplay and modding potential. Assuming that it could be a "semi-random" thing like dragons are going to be, I guess my choice would be for Gorgons.
* Gaze attack, which could be potentially be generalized to aura effects.
* Gaze attack may retain its potency when slain, which could lead to items with abilities.
* Death effects, coupled with the spontaneous generation of creatures (birth of Pegasus).
* Other strange effects associated with gorgons.

Runner-ups would be Sphinxes (interesting for megabeast antics), Manticores (the spine-shooting variant), Krakens (for functioning aquatic megabeasts), Phoenixes (death effects again), and Gargoyles (of the shift into statues variant, for creature <-> item transformations, though those may be an eventual outcrop of giant vermin lifecycles).

i don't see how a kraken could intereact with a fortress at all. sea monsters would probably make more sense when (and if) boats or underwater playable civilizations get properly implemented

You dont want to include boats into this game, it would only lead to drowning dwarfes and overseers who claim to have "boatmurdered" someone.

Or it could be a sea monster capable of land locomotion

Boats, ports, sea trading and sea monsters would be great, if only because they would bring dorf PIRATES! But in all seriousness, hopefully sea monsters will speed along port towns, ports in dwarf fortress, and drunken human sailors getting their faces knocked in after hitting on the sheriff's wife.

Giant turtles, why stop at multi tile creatures while multi region tiles creatures are a possibility.

Aklso, plus for boats and stuff.

Giant turtles

Welp, I know what I'd pay 50 bucks for. As long as giant tortoises are included, at least in potential origin stories when we get to them.

Semi Megabests:
Drakes (small dragons)
Observers (Underground creatures with a ranged attack)
A large variety of golems (generally weaker versions of Bronze colosi)
Dark Knights - Legendary undead warriors with legendary stats steel armor and a bluesteel cutting weapon travelling either alone or very small packs.

In a way, we kinda already have those in the form of Gabbro Men, Amethyst Men, and the like.
But if you're talking about really HUGE ones, yeah, I can see that getting fun.

The Thing! Not alien, of course; probably a magical creature. We already have some of the code for them in the vampire/necromancer disguises, come to think of it.

Wolpertinger for me. I too would go with changelings thought. With the new crime-report stuff this could be a rather amusing thing.
