Places You've Visited?
« on: July 15, 2012, 02:46:26 pm »

So, I just finished rounding off my "Places I've Visited" on Facebook, after I got back from The Netherlands today.

Anybody fancy to share'n'care, too?

Hmm, I've done trips to Portugal, France, Cuba and the UK. That's about as far as I've gone abroad.

I'd like to visit Egypt, but given the current state of affairs I'll postpone it until the Middle East looks less likely to implode.

I'd also like to visit Greece. I should hurry up because I'm not sure that we won't end like in the Middle East in Europe.

Don't have facebook so can't use whatever fancy thingy that is, but...

I've been around the continental USA a bit, but rarely outside it. Places I remember visiting would be the Bahamas (for 2 days), and a 2 week Mediterranean cruise visiting south eastern Europe (Turkey, Greece, some Italy, and a few others).

Site note: Mediterranean is hard to spell. Whoever came up with that name should be given a stern talking to.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I've never been gone out west any farther than Lousiana.
I've visited New York City twice.
I've been to Disney World 3 times.
I live a boring life.

Actually I travelled by bus the whole day and walked on foot in each country for a minimum of 2 hours, I got to Canada by going inside there embassy and that same day I also visited Vimi Ridge which is owned by Canada.

I've also managed to visit England, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey in one day without ever getting in a vehicle 'cos there was a warzone and England was around to resolve the conflict caused by Turkey and Greece both fighting for control of Cyprus.

E: Only airport stop here is Portugal though the staff were on strike so I was in Lisbon for 2 days

I've been to Belgium, Germany and Spain. I've been in France and Luxembourg while travelling to Spain but that doesn't really count.

One year ago, I only had middle-england charted on that map. I've been to glasgow, london and europe since then, due to my job working as (previously;) a Self-employed Water Treatment Engineer, and (now;) an Inventory Specialist. :)

I've never left the continental US. Or even the Midwest, for that matter. I've been in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan. The only cities of note I've been to are Chicago, Peoria, and Springfield (IL).

London and Munich are the only foreign places I've been to. Croatia doesn't really count as foreign, it's basically the same culture as Bosnia.

I have not been to Alaska, Montana, or any of the US territories except North Dakota.

I've also been to the land of the rising sun, the land down under, the place where saudis can sin, the land of the fortress built by water(which was an apt translation based on the port I went through), and I even saw the almost mythical city of gold, and was quite impressed.
