Send a robot to catch one of those animals hiding in the grass. Alive if possible.

Alright, why don't we do this then:

Grab a Laser Rifle for yourself and then go scout the immediate surroundings with two combat robot escorts. Start by checking the circle of rocks and the animals to the west.

Have the other three combat robots guard the teleporter and the work being done near it.

Activate all the worker drones and have six of them set up the non-handheld equipment we brought with us. Have the other four take the mining equipment and start testing the area close to the teleporter for a good place to mine/set up the Gravel Smasher.

My thinking is that we should just get everything set up while we identify what everything in our immediate area is. The Gravel Smasher is a priority because that will give us concrete so we can actually build worthwhile buildings. If we can get that set up as soon as possible we can quickly get our mech building a wall for us.

What does gravel smasher create powder from? Also, what does '1 solid' for crates and pipes mean?

Unfreeze one more science clone, set them to researching food. Stick one solar panel on top of the base. Deploy the concretion mech and order it to cover the earth around your base with concrete. Deploy Smelter to the south (assuming standard isometric projection, i.e. north is in the top right corner) of the base.

Well the gravel smasher smashes, gravel. Any rock up to the size of someone's head.
Also, what does '1 solid' for crates and pipes mean?
Any solid material. Metal, wood, that sort of thing.

Turn 2:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

First things first, you go back and get a rifle, it was stupid not grabbing one. Clearly, going out on some 'lost planet' with only a sword when there are three spare rifles.

You get the worker drones down onto the planet and split them into two groups. The first group of six drones gets to work setting up the equipment. They complete the setup of the smelter and gravel smasher and the manufacture box is being lifted out of the cargo bay back on the ship.

You have the group of four drones grab mining equipment and dig small holes around the station to look for anything usable. The only thing they find is a rock deposit to the east of the teleporter station. It might be worthwhile to get the science clones to rig up some sort of mineral scanner based on the ship's atmosphere scanning equipment. It sure would be a time saver.

You take two of the combat robots and check out the area covered in tall grass. There are animals in the grass which are moving to the edges as you move closer. They are making a noise which sounds like a bear growling through a fan underwater. It doesn't sound to friendly and it looks like there is a few of them. Apart from them you don't think there is any other wildlife around.

The other three combat robots protect the workers while they go about their tasks.

You have a strange urge to unfreeze a science clone and have them all research 'food'.

Welp. As much as I would LIKE to suggest building a solar panel or two as a backup power supply, the lack of Electronics makes building the Robot Bay the only Logical Choice...

Why are we moving everything out of the ship into a potentially dangerous place when we can teleport so easily and use the ship as base?

Why are we moving everything out of the ship into a potentially dangerous place when we can teleport so easily and use the ship as base?

Because the ship only has enough room for 7 people? And the cargo bay is, um, exposed to space. Yeah. It's got a big hole in it. Yeah, that'll stand up to scrutiny. Besides it's not like the ship is any safer then the ground at this point. It's a big unarmed unarmoured target that's sitting in an environment where a puncture in the hull could be fatal.

Robot Bay
I'm don't know what you mean. Unless you want to make a robotic artifical bay, that'd be rad. Although it's usefullness would be questionable.

Also a quite major flaw: You don't have any way of making electronics. I can see how that could be a problem. I'll add blueprints for them in the next version. which could be tonight if someone would at least suggest what to do about the animals. Do you guys wanna shoot them dead or just leave them be?

And another note: I had a thought and i'll let you use concrete without having to grab water. Build a Colony got to update 73 and concrete was never used because getting water was to much of a hassle.

Grab the animals and store them... somewhere. Grab some grass and dump it with them. Grab one animal and have some newly unfrozen science clones do some science to it.

Turn 3:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Everything continues as it was for the workers. The Manufacture Box and the Plastic Machine (which totally existed all along) are both set up and operational. The only piece of equipment left to unload is the Silicon Refiner (which also totally existed all along).

You bring down the Concretion Mech so you can get started on constructing a wall or just covering the ground in concrete the mech has two tools it uses to lay concrete. It has shield generators to create a temporary barrier around the wet concrete to shape it and it's injectors which it uses to deposit the concrete.

The drones have found ore to the south east of the teleport station.

You decide to steal one of the animals from the smaller group to test on.

The combat robot puts down his rifle so he can grab the smaller animal. You and the other robot stay behind with rifles raised just in case.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It enters the grass. The animals start making that noise again.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The larger animal leaps at the robot! You let lose with the laser.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The animal lands on the robot. You hear the robot's torso buckle under the weight. The smaller animal leaps into the fray as well.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The large animal goes limp and what you assume are it's eyes begin to bleed a think black liquid. The robot catches the smaller animal.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Capture successful. The robot has taken some structural damage but is still operational.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You send the robot to the ship with the animal to have the clones check it out. You take three clones off of researching 'food' and assign them to researching the animal.

Kieren calls you on your fancy communicator thing.
Kieren: "I'm listening in on some of the radio broadcasts we've picked up coming from your area."
Jaskirat: "Anything important?"
Kieren:"Well a few people saw the teleport station come down from the sky which isn't much of a suprise. I think someone is coming to check it out since I can see two vehicles heading towards you from the north with the ship's cameras. I don't know the specifics though since the resolution on these things is terrible. "
Jaskirat: "Thanks for the heads up. Oh and give the science clones a heads up, I'm sending them a live animal we captured. The robot bringing it up has a bit of damage but it should just be a patch job."
Kieren: "Alright I'll let them know."

Looks like you'll have guests soon.
