With training militiadorfs training in the dangerroom when uri Mcdumpsterbaby is thrown in they get hardened to atrocity and death.

If urist Mcbaby survives he gets TON of cool skills/scars.

[/quote]exactly. Send the mothers for a quick training session and watch the babies fly. I even suggested that in the miscarriage thread, but I wasn't listened to.

(also, I believe babies just can't survive Not for a typical danger room session, at least)

P.S.: only in Dwarf Fortress you can suggest impaling babies because they're a waste of resources, and not be seen as a sociopath.

Here are some Adventure Mode things:

Urist McAdventurer: "Huamn McVillage Doctor, could you please patch up my bleeding injuries and set my broken bones so I don't die? I pay well."

Urist McAdventurer: "Hey, Urist McHiredBlade, you've accumulated too many injuries and lost too much equipment to safely accompany me. Here's your share of the loot, and may we travel again when you've recovered."

Urist McAnyone: "Hold on, Urist McDrowningMan! I'll help pull you out of the water!"

If only we could actually do that! We could make artficial hills that look completely real! That would be perfect for the "Human" Village (with a secret fort hidden from the silly tall folk's eyes) I'm trying to make (so far with very little success).

You can do that in DFHack.  Use tiletypes command to place soil where you want it, can even set the now underground bits to be "unrevealed" if you like.
