Never breached hell. I almost always end up with FPS death from water based super projects.

Steel. It's always seemed like a waste of time to me.

Never made an alloy.
Never reached magma.
Never survived HFS.
Never built aboveground villages.
Never broken a seige.
Never had a valuable food industry.

You sound new. Siege breaking took me a while to learn, but now I take down multiple sieges a year without breaking a sweat.

Nope, I started playing a few years ago. I just never really saw the benefits to breaking a siege which would just end up killing dwarves and making people sad. With a walled of aboveground area, waste disposal isn't even a valid reason.
The rest are just because I was always occupied doing other things than diving straight for unleashing the horrorterrible forces that lie at the bottom of the world. Weird right?

In my two (I think) years of dabbling in DF (just got hardcore into it a few months ago), these are the things i have never done succesfully.

Never made a pump stack or anything complicated to do with liquids. I only use magma if i find it near the caves/surface in  volcano.

Never made a spider-silk farm

Never made a legit working atom-smasher

Never used any mods (other then my dabbling in the raws here and there)

Never used any cheats or exploits, or any "clever use of gameplay mechanics", other then savescuming

Never gotten a death message, i always abandon when stuff gets icky

Never lost a fort to a loyalty cascade (cept a few dorfs i isolated quickly)

Never had a tantrum spiral (!)

Never had a bad mood, like when a dwarf kills someone and claims a butcher shot. Iv only heard of them on the wiki.

Never got a fort going on a glacier (not because its too challenging, but because of..... Aquifers.....)

Never breached an aquifer (soon to change)

Never tried a full on evil embark, its always 50%-80%

Never had a necromancer siege.

Never had a volcano fort.

Never breached Hell or dug deep enough for adamantine. Never had to really, too much to do upstairs.

Never had a vampire. Damn migrants.

Have yet to update to try out the new hauling system so no wheelbarrows and minecarts.

Have yet to perform science with werebeasts, vampires, and necromancers.

Never had a Fell Mood, kinda wanting one.

Never lost a fort, FPS death and disinterest is what gets me.

Never had the king arrive. Only time he did, the civilization had no ruler. :/

Additions to my previous list:

- never intentionally had the king arrive (I have a fort with adamantine in .40d, and of course the king showed up then)
- never had a fell mood
- never have done a full evil embark (I've done half evil embarks a couple of times)
- never had a necromancer siege (I started a community fort that wound up having one, but I never dealt with it)
- never had the elves attack me (I keep things friendly, although in 34.11 the elves are significantly less profitable than in 31.25)
- never performed a reclaim
- never yet built more than a few safe pastures (I just toss the animals out there to catch goblin ambushes, safe pastures are the last thing on my priority list pretty much)
- never made a GCS farm or even captured one
- never taken one of those swords from the depths (and actually, I have four forts now in 34.11 and none of them have one)
- if I've fought a bronze colossus, it was so long ago I don't remember it, and I don't feel like going through all my old saves to check
- never gotten killed by a carp
- never gotten killed by an elephant

1. Minecarts.  They look neat, but I just don't seem to have a need for them with my fortress layouts.
2. Visiting the circus.  No interest.
3. Grabbing the free sword.  Ditto.

Don't know what I never tried, because I never tried it.  *bonkselfhard*
To be painfully specific,
I never managed to order a Manager to manage, Process Plant.  Not sure why Process Plant doesn't work for me, but DF seems to sit there on 30/30 without advancing.
I never played DF longer than 1 year, without using DT.
I never CSI investigated a vampire.
I never won a siege vs the elfs or the humans.
I never wrote a mod or a macro for DF.
I never reported a bug using the official form.
I never met a dorf ale I didn't like.
I never drink alone, unless I'm with someone.  *hiccup*

I have never played more than 5 years since military got revamped.
Never managed to have a decent military since then either. (I try all the time, though. Steel weapons and armor when possible and let them train all the time, but no luck)
Never seen a dragon.
Never had zombie fog. (Played an evil everything reanimates on an aquifier for two years once though D:)
Never survived a necromancer attack.
Never had an impressive adventurer.
Never purposely killed a dwarf.
Never had a monarch.
Never mined adamantine.
Never pressed anything, or a bunch of other similar things.
Never built a mega project.
Never played a game where I was not seriously frustrated at one point.

  • Never utilized magma properly. I just made it fall down to the caverns once.
  • Never survived the HFS.
  • Never survived in an evil biome.
  • Never made a raven stockpile. (Though I most likely will.)
  • Never had a forgotten beast, titan, or other megabeast.
  • Only had one goblin siege ever. Like one.
  • Never made anything out of glass, soap, clay, adamantine...
  • Hardly ever start a steel industry
  • And... rarely continue to have enough motivation to make a fort last more than a couple of years.
Seriously... I'm not religious... but this seems like the worst confession ever.   .______.

I am totally gonna go play so much more DF now... hell yes.
Or should I say, HFS yes.

1. Used a mod.
2. Visited the clown castle in a serious fort.
3. Done any even moderately sized magma projects. Same goes with anything involving axles or screw pumps.
4. Used therapist.
5. Barely used glass. Trap components, doors, hatches and the like - not even a single glass item.
6. Started a true and true lever operated silk farm.
