These days, the market for hard to find antiquities is pretty big. Seems the further we go, the more people want to idolize the past. Even today, things still remain hidden, sometimes right under our noses.
Profit brings potential. A whole new class of people, of all classes and backgrounds-Archaeologists, Bounty Hunters, Pirates, Treasure Seekers, Tomb Robbers-who find these things, bring them back. There are men and women who are more or less Noble, returning what was lost to their rightful owners...and, many just serve to line their own pockets.
It's not an easy life to get into...it's even harder to get out of, at least on purpose. Some drop out-opting for a safer life as a civilians. Others die, of course-victim to any of the dozens of threats they face every day. Others just disappear.
But as they say, Fortune favors the Bold. And Boldness is something you've never certainly had a lack of.
Luckily for you, in this business, that phrase is often literal.Play Thread=

So, I've decided to run a D20 Modern forum game.
In this, you play a Treasure Hunting Adventurer in the modern world-Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, Nathan Drake. Expect light-but frentic-combat, and more puzzle solving and role playing. Ideally, though, this is an action adventure game. While the setting is the Modern World, supernatural elements will certainly be abundant.
All characters start at Lv. 1.
We're using 32 Point stat buy-

Don't bother with starting equipment aside from personal, RP items-most of it will be extrapolated out, the other stuff you'll need to purchase in game.
http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/resources/systems/pennpaper/modern/smack/srdhome.htmlIdeally, submit your sheet with
http://www.myth-weavers.com , but putting it other ways isn't much trouble for me.
If you're having trouble making a character or understanding the system, just give me your character background and concept and I'll help you make one.
On that point, background is a definite plus. In this setting, it's likely you've had a few years in the business-list what you've done, and the people you know. You've made friends and enemies, rivals and lovers. I like my characters to come with baggage.
I'm looking for four players, but willing to start with more or less, depending on how good the characters are made. First come is not first serve! Put a little effort into creating your char, why don't you?
Questions? Complaints? Well wishing? Things you'd like to see in the game? Feel free to use this OOC thread for all that! When we start, I'll make a proper game thread.
Current House RulesAll skill boosting feats feats-such as Focused, Educated, Athletic, Acrobatic, Confident etc-let you roll twice whenever you would make a check with that skill, and taking the higher, in addition to their normal bonus. This only happens once a turn for one skill, at most.
Take your average possible HP at your levels, OR you can ask me to roll it. You get an additional ten HP to start.
You get a free stat point every 3 levels to put in what you like.
You can take two flaws for one bonus feat, and possible perks based on your biography. Must, obviously, be supported by your background.
