Is the wall and scout tower actually built with wooden logs instead of wooden blocks?

its made from logs yeah, I think you only get one block per log though. I could be wrong about that though. the tower isn't actually finished either.

All is silence. The road is straight, without turning, in darkness. Now let there be an end to all things.

Doesn't it seem awfully cheaty to use that for metal when the entire purpose is no ore?

Yes, yes it does. But eventually one of us is going to be "that guy" and wind up using that metal as it is the "best metal" and the only one we can gain via our home. I think the best way to describe the challenge here is to see how long we can hold out before using the "forbidden metal" xD

I won't be that guy, since indeed the "no ore" handicap would be negated.
We can get some ore from the caravans, yes?

Instead we shall have a... dwarven engineering solution ! :)

8th Granite, 37, Early Spring
No one can tell me how much bonze and food we have!
Tulon Sakzulruthosh have been appointed as Broker, bookkeeper and manager.

Also we shall cut trees into precious logs all springs, and haul them inside in summer.

20th Granite, 37, Early Spring
Migrants! 17 of them.
Highlights are 2 miners with their own picks!! This is precious to us.
Also a good Cook.

10th Felsite, 37, Late Spring
There is something fishy doing on. Dwarves try to go drink, but then cancel and try again and cancel again and over and over again.
"Thod Dastotatis, Peon cancels Drink: Water source vanished."
Is this related to the waterfall mist by the bridge?
I shall order the digging of a small pool of water.

12th Felsite, 37, Late Spring
Elves!!!!!

2nd Malachite, 37, Mid-Summer
More Migrants!

17th Galena, 37, Late Summer
A human caravan arrived.

5th Sandstone, 37, Mid-Autumn
More migrants! Seven this time.

23th Sandstone, 37, Mid-Autumn
Brodich Sazirkor had craeted Liruk Urdim, a schist hatch cover worth 7200 Urist!
It is made of Schist and Copper obtained from the human caravan.

19th Timber, 37, Late-Autumn
A caravan from Saravesh Uzol has arrived.

Sprint has arrived
We have now 52 dwarves :)

My turn is over.

I expanded the bedrooms to 128 places, with 64 of them furnished with a simple bed and designed as a bedroom.
There is also a two z-level dining room with 32 tables and seats.

A six level watertower has been built, with the windmills about to complete.
A water storage device can be added, along with an invader staging area with a bait animal. Unleashing the waterflow could then push them into wooden spikes and then down into the canyon.

I've had trouble with dwarves trying to drink from the waterfall mist and cancelling, and that slowed me down in the first part of my turn.
There was also an accident resulting in a dwarf drowing in the river.

We have plenty of food and drinks, and bedrooms.
The next player could complete the waterflow trap, or otherwise improve our defences.
