Aggravatingly, I won't be able to devote any time to DF for this week, though I will be available next week. I request to have my turn moved to after Valrandir's.

Gate Ivory
Year 2

I am Valrandir, Doctor Valrandir.
My wandering soul have found an interesting dwarven settlement, this shall be the location of my next act.

First let me investigate this place in more details.
  • We are on top on an awesome mountain, complete with a valley and a waterfall
  • There are 17 dwarves, and they call this place GateIvory.
  • On the top level, we are outside.
    • There is zone secured by what appears to be a wood logs wall, providing a secure pasture for animals.
    • A small watch tower scout the faraway lands
    • To the left a deep canyon falls into a flowing mountain river.

  • The level below includes

Do we have any write-ups on the pantheon yet? If not, I'll handle it.

Crossbows! Deadly, even when of crappy material! And glass serrated discs traps. Yes..... Focus on defense before racking up the wealth, although, its going to be rather hard to rack up wealth without metal...

Well, if we don't get sand soon, we will have a abundance of bone on our hands. However... This would be good for my bowyer dorf, if he ever shows up.
Sand Imports? In my fort, since I don't like glass very much(Except for shredding goblins into a fine mist.), I always have a abundance of sand and glass on hand.

Hi thanks for your comments and patience.
I will update tonight, and focus on defence first.

It would probably be a good move to spend spring cutting and hauling wood to establish a wood reserve, before the outside becomes dangerous with hidden ambush.

I will also look to trade for more picks, I want more miners!
