There is some kind of lack of client side simulation, so if you have a bad ping it affects the apparent frame rate.

What are your computer specs?

Consider changing the resolution in the options menu.

I have an Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset.

I've tried changing it to 640x480, but nothing happened.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Some people are saying that if you set cor affinity to one core, then change it back it will fix the lag.

Probably because integrated cards are garbage.

Gentlemen. Sorry to necro this, but there is good news.

The v21 Alpha is currently available, and it's extremely fun. Once you get past the controls.

Get it here. It's $19.99, but it's worth it.

It's probably only up for a limited time, though, so be hasty about it.

Whats It like compared to the free version? I and a number of bay12 members ran it for an evening a few weeks ago.

There are 4 corporations all trying to make money and starting on the four corners of the new map, and so far there are 2 different mission types (technically 3, but one of them is basically 2 in 1 depending on who you are).

The jobs are either to chase down an AI limo and kill it to steal a briefcase with a disk or one corp starts with a disk and another corp makes a bid to acquire it by monetary trade.

There are 4 different guns you can pick from, a pistol, an SMG, an AK-47 and an M16. My favorite is the AK even though the M-16 is technically better. You can buy these at your home base with money you earn by completing missions. There's also bandages and a bleeding system, and the managers of each company (basically the first person through the door) gets a brik phone he can use to call up other managers and arrange deals. Finally, cars have keys, but they honestly don't seem to actually do anything, since you can operate most vehicles without them.

There's a few new systems in play, like the cars all having stick-shift which is controlled by holding down the RMB and moving the mouse, ballistics are more fine-tuned, guns must be manually reloaded (it's a pain in the butt at first, but you get used to it) and you have two hands to hold things and can use them both to sort and divide money, put stuff into and take stuff out of briefcases, hold 2 things at once, or otherwise just use whatever 2 hands can be used for.

Alex sold the Hockey? prototype for $9 a little while back, and it was a complete waste of money, with the game having extremely low FPS and being practically unplayable if 2 (or more) people were in the same game.

I love Sub Rosa but $20 seems a bit steep. I'd be willing to pay it if it was actually worth it.

Is the paid version $20 better than the free version?

I've certainly enjoyed it. The big problem I'd say with it right now is that there's just not that many people on between about 6PM to 1PM EST.
