I was talking more about their cost in GP; the healing kit is 11000 to get it permanently. And honestly, the HAR pack can be worth it if you're looking for a way to support them without spending too much; it's 15 USD but you unlock stuff that would cost more than twice that if you were foolish to buy it all with real money, and there's the bit that (currently) you can only unlock the HAR permanently with real cash. That said, you might want to rent it first to see if it fits your playstyle, because the recoil can be a massive pain; my HAR build is focused nearly entirely on reducing recoil and it still is nearly as high as my damage-focused BAR, relatively speaking. If you can control it, though, it tends to kill pretty damn fast.

What would be an appropriate sniper/high damage high accuracy weapon? The interface is somewhat confusing to me, as someone just starting. I appear to have a 3.9 (or 4.3, I forget) scope and the bolt action rifle base; is that all I really need?

Yeah, I think that should be good. Just stack on as much damage (reducing recoil is optional) and you'll be alright.

But then, I am pretty terrible, with only 3 or so games where I had more kills than deaths, so you might not want to follow my advice.

Recoil's basically moot with the BAR, so just ignore that as much as you can. I recommend playing with one of the holographic scopes with it, too, to see if you like the versatility. Once you get closer to the higher levels, you'll be able to pump the damage high enough to one-shot anyone with ~200 HP or less. More if you use the Incendiary rounds, though it's rather cheap.

So is there any particular reason to use the crowbar over the default knife other than crowbar?

Installed it, played two matches, it's fun, if a bit disorientating, but that's probably just me being used to the much slower pace of WoT.

And it's kinda hard to play on a laptop, especially with the table being crowded.

Also, interesting issue, going into video options crashes the game, everything else works fine so far :S

Yeah, seems to be something faulty with that. I don't crash but some of that changes i do have no effect, like all my textures is ultra-low quality no matter what i set it to.

I bought one of the premade burstfire rifles, the Bully, I think. It is pretty great, and now I feel dumb for buying the bolt action rifle receiver permanently. Oh well.
e: I think it has incendiary ammo, too. It just keeps getting better.

You might want it later when you can buy better parts

I gotta say bolt action rifle users are my personal bane. Never able to react/realize what weapon they have before I'm able to get back into cover so more often than not I end up getting headshotted.

Another fun issue, the game randomly starts minimizing during a match, you can also minimize it any time you press space.

I'm trying to like it because it's fun and I like the customization options, but damn it is it buggy.

Will it work with hardsuits in the future, though, is the question. Because people walking in circles right up in your personal (armored mechsuit's) space would be much easier to deal with if you can just flick them several meters away.

Accidentally discovered that there's sort of a way to melee in the hardsuit.

I figured a guy who I'd spotted up in a little raised building would cut out the back when I saw two of my teammates run in the front, so stomping around the corner I activated the burn function to cut him off from the exit. Cue him stepping out on to the gantry in front of me and promptly being crushed by three tons of run-away exoskeleton. I was stunned, although in hindsight I shouldn't have been given that a hardsuitted teammate had killed me the week before by stepping down off a ledge and on to my head.

The hard part is getting them in front of you, a lot easier on small maps where you can just back into a corner.

It's of questionable usefulness however when you have an insta-gib railgun and the fact boosting puts you a good couple of seconds out of action before being able to do anything again.

Though it could be interesting to see what happens if you boost into a crowd of enemies sitting on an objective.

Just got 5 caps in a row in a Netwar match because apparently nobody else was aware of the flag.
