Anyone have the second (level 15) holo sight unlocked? I'm wondering if it is any good.

Also: Ye gods, the recoil on the HAR is atrocious.

He was using one of those annoying riot shields

Those never seem to actually help. I've gotten several kills where I've just shot their feet/shot through the slot in the shield when it's deployed.

Another insight: Armor Stinger is the best way to clear off a heavily populated node in Domination. The nodes are too sealed off in Offshore however, so it isn't as viable in Netwar.

Whoever said that BL:R needs some unique gamemodes is right. I'd love a gamemode like Assassination, where one team has to escort a target and the other side has to kill the target. Blacklight seems like a good game for this.

Oh, and I also found a second continent, "The Released Syrup-Continents". It houses "The Finger of Silkness". I think I died a little inside.

Or at least more maps for Netwar. One map all the time everytime for a mode that could be somewhat interesting otherwise is not the best.

I'd rather they take their time releasing new maps, rather than forcing them out in a manner akin to Tribes: Ascend, where the maps and guns are horribly balanced, and usually the pay-for guns are overpowered for a week.

So I decided to give this a whirl. My character's name is lrcp.

Oh man I'm so excited.
e: Whoops, forgot to mention, I'm on the US server. I played a bit, it seems pretty easy to get headshots by spraying in close range with the default gun, unless I'm just lucky.

Also, when you change weapons, what does the rapidly filling bar under the name of the weapon that appears under the weapon type (light pistol, etc) mean?

I saw someone use riot shields to extreme effect by staying out of range and using a bolt-action rifle. It was almost impossible to shoot through the gap with ironsights and using a scope or closing the distance gave him enough time to get in a headshot.

DAYYYUUUMM
The premade incendiary SMG is ridiculous. That being said, I prefer using a 70 damage 3rburst. 1 burst kill FTW!
I actually prefer a burst rifle with minimal spread. At medium and long range, you just point it at the target's chest and ride the recoil up to a headshot. Plus, you only need low-level equipment for it, which is a plus for me :P

Just hire it for a day if you're not sure, you get the GP back in 2 matches.

Was more asking because I'm a level too low to rent it and my internet has been crapping out on everything more intensive than ff.net and B12 lately.  :P

I use the lvl 15 holo on the standard rifle for mid range maps since my smg doesn't have the range but i need the occasional full mag dump on a sudden enemy. If I am not mistaken I believe it offers 2x magnification and zooms fast.

I recently unlocked it and it's pretty sweet. Better zoom than the other holographic scope and doesn't have the annoying screen tinting everything red. I've been using it with my Bolt-Action Rifle, and it has been sweet as sugar to me.

Speaking of which, I've managed to get first place several times today, and even went a few rounds without dying at all. Somehow I got a whopping 400 GP from one match, about 120 of it from "time played", so it must've been a bug.

Almost got 10k score once with the after match bonuses but GP still didn't really change from the usual ca 200 gp

Oh yeah, Bolt action + incendiary ammo with damage bonus parts is terrifying. If you get hit, you're dead unless you can heal within seconds.

Speaking of healing, do the costs for equipment seem a little strange to anyone else? They're something like twice the price of a gun frame in funny money or 10 USD to buy them permanently, which honestly doesn't seem worth it (except for the healing for when you feel like pubstarring). They give an advantage, but it doesn't seem like it is that large.  ???

Well, I found a premade lmg i like so I dont need to buy a gun yet, waiting for the best parts to become available before doing that so why not buy/rent healing with the money thats piling up.
They are a bit too expensive though.

Yeah, nothing permanent is less than $10. I don't mind supporting a game I like, but it doesn't seem worth it.
