EU + US Servers are down. Brief look at their forums seem to suggest that it happens a fair bit. Any of the longer term players able to say how often the servers die?

This is the second time. I first tried playing roughly a week ago and it was down.

EDIT: They're back up.

I got the Lucky Cat, which gives you two extra bullets in your magazine. Goes great with the Combat Rifle.

Also, that freaking don't-show-up-on-HRV-thing is 100% awesome. I went 11-1 or something in one match because folks wouldn't check behind a crate I was camping, and they kept insisting on trying to hack the point, even when their teammates got killed right next to them. Lots of head shots. :D

Went ahead and dropped $10 on the Starter Pack; might as well give them something, because I think I'll be playing quite a bit, and the only other thing I forsee buying would be another loadout slot. Hopefully the server is back up...

Played this for about 2 hours yesterday.  Seems very balanced for a F2P game as I was usually hovering in top 4 on my team using the starting gun.  I don't seem to have the option to buy a gun permanently yet but I guess that's a level restriction or maybe it only shows up when I have enough money.

Name's Tnx in game if anyone wants an OKAY person to play with.  Also, can any vets recommend a good pre-built gun?

Don't go wastin' no money on that there slot, boy!

You get one after a few levels, and two is enough. At least if you're boring like me if you put a close-rangey SMG in one slot and snipey-snipey rifle in the other.

A good one is the 'Burning Sensation'

It works well all-around and the burn damage really helps.

Still timing out attempting to connect. I'm certainly not going to be renting anything when there's a good chance that I'll lose most of the time because their servers are cruddy.

Game is not "conencting" to servers.  Where are you guys seeing a server status page?  I'm googling around and I can't seem to find it.

Is anyone having a difficult time connecting to servers? The USA/AU servers seem to be incapable of- well, anything. I'm getting nonstop "Servers not available"/ "Connection timed out" messages. Anyone know if the servers are going to be up and functional again soon?

Oh, and I also found a second continent, "The Released Syrup-Continents". It houses "The Finger of Silkness". I think I died a little inside.

I connected without a hitch an hour or so ago. Haven't tried since then.

I'm thinking about putting some money into it if I stick with it long enough. Shame you can't buy a GP bonus, like the XP bonus. A third or maybe forth loadout slot is a must, though, and might as well, since that's one of the few things you can't get without ponying up cash.

The game desperately needs more and larger maps, though, along with some variety in game play. Siege looks interesting, but I'd prefer a mode with varied and progressive objectives, a la Brink. Maybe an insurgent mode, with one team defending against another - But the defenders can't be seen by or use the HVR system. Heck, a low-reward, coffee break zombie mode would be fun, even though everybody's doing it. It's just fun using those super weapons of yours to mow down mindless corpses sometimes, and Retribution is well built for it, with its focus on gun modification.

Just some variety beyond the standard FPS game modes.

Well, there is the Netwar mode

But there's only one map for it and it's basically DOM and CTF combined.

Cap points and bring the flag to a team-owned one.
