How did I miss this thread? I'm Aklyon on the US server thing, if it manages to stable more stable than the Ssss (steam summer sale server)  :P

Might help to mention who is on US and who is on EU, though.

Anyway, the guns. Which gun is the most interesting to you guys?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

EU server.

<3 dat LMG. The SMG's fun too, and I'm sorta tentatively liking the bolt action rifle, even if I'm a shitty shot.

The bolt-action, for all its need to be a decent shot to hit anything with, is just awesome when you eventually get a headshot without being attacked by an smg every 5 minutes because I keep forgetting to switch to le pistol when running around.

I am punishing with a tricked out smg but am also doing pretty well with a 3 rnd burst AR, just aim for left chest and I can usually grab a headshot on first or second burst. LMG with a silencer to brake the recoil is also sweet.

Not really a good match; I'm struggling with both a poor connection and bad graphics card. Heh, my computer was chugging more than a frat boy doing a kegstand during some of my matches today. That said, I've got both the burst rifle and bolt rifle frames, and I'm really liking the latter. The former seems like it would be a good medium-range marksman's rifle, if the maps weren't all (save one) tiny, enclosed CQB-fests. Incidentally, that's one of my largest complaints with the game. Feels like it's trying to fit modern FPS combat into Quakesque maps.

I find myself using a combat rifle and SMG quite a bit. For sidearms I use a burst fire pistol and scoped revolver, respectively.

I love my Combat Rifle to death. Three quick shots take almost anything down, with plenty of room for error. If one of those shots is a head shot, it only takes two. It sucks in CQC, though.

The Bolt-Action can do up to 200 damage once you've unlocked enough stuff, so it's a one-shot kill for anyone who doesn't have extra armor, head shot or no. The trick to using it is to hide with the anti-HVR bubble. I've gotten some mean kill streaks (Up to Professional Killer, I believe) while hiding near a control point and popping out from cover. It was awesome.

Yeah, that's the one.

I've gotten a couple finishes from suddenly remembering it.

Will it work with hardsuits in the future, though, is the question. Because people walking in circles right up in your personal (armored mechsuit's) space would be much easier to deal with if you can just flick them several meters away.

I think this is a good weakness for them to have, though.  They kill so effortlessly.  They should take a team effort to summon safely and then escorts to prevent being kited to oblivion.

It really annoys me that knives don't work on hardsuits.  I took one on in a clean 1v1 once by staying directly behind it, and after going through a clip I thought "Why am I even using a gun for this?"  I took out my knife and found that it couldn't register a hit at all on the mech.

True.
It is rather annoying though. People run faster than the hardsuit's turning speed can unless accompanied by gratuitous minigunnery.
