I had a necro adventurer from day one once with this method.
By the way, if you intend to use the slab in a fort: check in Legends that the slab has been "claimed", but not yet "stored" anywhere. One time i found a slab in a human fortress that was stored there and it kept dissapearing if my adventurer dropped it. Otherwise it works fine.

Arg, i had a perfect slab, in a tower near a town.

Two deaths later, genning new world. Two demigod zombies are not something i want to face.

If you save your world gen and just regen the same world, but end in the year before the tower was built or better in the year after the necro became the chief of his bandit gang you might just have to face one unarmed necromancer.

Oh god, ive got one here, a necro claimed a slab in a mountainhome hall. guess i know where im headed.

You know you can't visit mountain halls in adventure mode, right? He should be in a bandit camp. In Legends it should say something like: In 22 Urist McNecro claimed the Slab, in 22 he learned the secrets of life and death, in 22 he became the chief of a bandit gang. Before they have a tower Necros behave like regular bandits, just with zombies. They might also ambush you. If you ask for surroundings people will just say -banditcampname- is there and there, Urist the dwarf is there (they will not tell you he's a necro). If your world is too big, people might not know about the camp. In that case you might have to use Legends Viewer to get a direction, otherwise you might have to search the whole world.

to make it easier for you, let's revisit an old suggestion: become a vampire first. sounds hard? it isn't. Vampires can be any intelligent race, so if you walk through a village, look into a house and see a lizard man chilling among the humans, it's a no-brainer. Then simply accuse it of being a creature of the night, wait till the villagers kill it (14 on 1 are pretty good odds) and drink the blood. Now the zombies leave you alone.

According to the wiki:

Gives the creature knowledge of any secrets with SUPERNATURAL_LEARNING_POSSIBLE that match its spheres. Other effects are unknown.

So, that plus [SPHERE:DEATH]?

1 - Download and use embark anywhere.
2 - Start a fort on a tower.
3 - Before unpausing at the start, forbid the tower doors to lock the inhabitants inside
4 - Undermine the tower and drop the whole thing a few z levels to kill off everything inside
5 - Make sure there are stairs to the bottom of the pit full tower wreckage.
6 - Abandon the fort
7 - Adventure to the wreckage, sift through the rubble until you find the slab.
8 - Wreak bloody vengance upon the world.
