Right, it definately can be Long and Hard Hard. Which is what I am hoping for.

This game is fucking awesome, weird shit happens though, like trees growing rapidly, the overworld basically falling to pieces, sudden jets of water shooting into the sky, strange lights from below.

I have died to following:

A reptile thing
Falling to my death
Getting Crushed by a mountain falling onto me.

How do i fight?

This might sound stupid, but where do I get the "stone blocks" needed to make a forge? How do I even make it?

first thing kill trees lots of trees R-Clk

2ns thing watch out for start area falling from under you.

ladders are your friend
avoid lizards and unstable rock

exploratry mine about use loads of ladders and look for "good stone" and coal in the sandstone, the odd square is scattered here and there.
and clay in the dirt for bricks
make a surface house with wood planks
build smelter
replace wood wallls with brick or it will turn to dirt if trees are near.

proceed carefully and ladders

"good stone" is odsidian
combine lava and water to farm the stuff
tin ore is near limestone rock
copper i still have not found
iron can be forund near lava way down
Danger bombs can go off at random i think
Obsidian farm is dangerous and just killed me as got sloppy, only takes 1 lava in a cistern to kill you

You fight with a sword, which you have to craft out of coal and copper ore copper bars. You need to smelt copper ore into copper bars.

You can find "copper ore" in the limestone layer. It's hard to get, because you can't digg limestone without a pickaxe, so you have to find copper hat is in your reach (some blocks around you).
