Necro'ing a thread this old should not be a source of pride, but of shame.

Fie, sir.
I am a master threadnomancer. It's my job.

Even though this thing has been necromanced from the depths of the forum, having access to the saves would be something that I would like to see.

Even if we need an older version of DF to get access to it, seeing Boatmurdered and exploring it in Legends and Adventure mode has always been something I would like to do. Although they are probably lost now due to the time.  :(

1. Necroing threads is nothing to be proud of
so
2. If you find this subject interesting, create a NEW thread

I would also love to mess around with the legendary BM save, but 15 mins of googling about the subject gave me nothing. Not to mention that a link to a save for version: DF 0.22.110.22f (November 3, 2006) should be pretty damn dead.

Edit: earliest saves on DFFD in the community section are from 2008, so that's another dead end
Super edit: The Something Awful Forum archive could contain something, but it requires a 10$ account upgrade

It was done by somethingawful, wasn't it? I guess the first step would be to find the old thread on there, or see if people who took game turns are still active nowadays and ask them. A quick look shows that archive access is restricted behind some dumbass paywall, so those users are the best bet.

I have archives over on SA, but I can't find a working link. The links to downloadable saves I saw were dead links to rapidshare.

Those threads were never meant for posterity. The links were sparse, usually people just email the saves to each other.

By the time people would be saving that sort of thing, I think the LParchive just came out. It does such a good job keeping all that stuff there really wasn't a need to keep all those files anyway.

Your best bet is someone that still has the files and uploads them for you somewhere, but I wouldn't count on it.

I found some potential accounts that match names from BM's lparchive:
tourettedog, Kalo Foxfire, Locus, Sankis, Bremen and Doctor Zero
They don't have to belong to the same people who played BM, but it's a staring point.

EDIT:
I'm about to send out the message spoilered bellow to accounts from the list. Fingers crossed.

Hey guys, I responded to KtosoX's message, but I'll post here too.

10-year anniversary of Boatmurdered in November, huh? Crazy.

I have an old PC that I can dig around on. It's not connected right now, but some time in the next week I'll try to boot it up and see what I can find. But as I said to KtosoX, I was 4th in line, so it would be an early version of the map.

I do agree there's no going back and re-living a classic in the same way as before, but the files were never secret in the first place, so I see no reason why we can't dig them up for people to play around with.

@Locus Thanks for replying in this thread.
I guess any save would be appreciated, even if it is an early one.
I can imagine starting a "what if" community fort with an early save file. Like an alternate timeline sort of thing.
