I view it more as a cautionary tale. As in, everything in Dwarf Fortress is out to kill you.

It really is disappointing though; everyone gets warned off from the HFS so easily these days, and we get deprived of so much Fun!  (Hell, did we all forget the F in HFS STANDS for Fun, anyway?)

We all really need to resolve to either be neutral or play dumb when these threads show up.  After all, it's our Fun we're preventing too :)

That one was great fun. Why can't more people take the subtle approach?

Yeah, I remember reading that thread too.  That and Boatmurdered is what got me interested enough in DF to learn how to play it.

I wish I hadn't read this. But, on the flip side, I am glad I got to see a story about a KGB Kobold ending the known world.
