Shattered Horizons. Couldn't run it when it came out, mostly forgot about it since then.

Favorite sci-fi anything? I'd say Babylon 5. Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and BSG (new, not old) are also some of my favorites. There's so much more than that, of course.

Gratuitous Space Battles.

I'll go with Dan Simmons and his Hyperion series and/or the Olympus/Ilium books. They might not be the hardest of scifi, but damnit, they're good.

Gratuitous Space Battles please.

I'm become a fan of Arthur C. Clarke ever since I read 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Sign me up for Gratuitous Space Battles.

No real choice here; Vernor Vinge is a damn fine writer. Though Heinlein and Asimov are both excellent as well. Favorite SF game is obviously going to be Aurora.  :P

Thanks for doing this giveaway, Sirus.

Not entering(you are awesome for doing this) but wanted to say my favorite sci-fi writer is Heinlein and in particular this controversial book. It is full of mild sexist and racial overtones that were prevalent at the time but more importantly it is an excellent view of the common American fear experience of the early cold war. The sci-fi takes off from there and delivers one of the most exciting and accessible literary journeys one can have. Can't recommend it enough to anyone mature enough to accept and ignore some of the ignorance of a bygone era while appreciating that the author using borderline offensive language to shine a light on the ridiculous prejudice.
