It was an influential family, after the disgraced Arondson son left.  The High Inquisitor is the master blacksmith's nephew, for reference.

Your apprenticeship continues apace.  When I'm back and you've finished the king's quest there might be a blacksmithy related job for you to deal with, but it depends what I can dovetail together - I prefer to join players together on quests for co-operation and GM sanity reasons.

Oh, come on. His parents were dead, plague was ravaging the land, and there was a civil war brewing. They were stressful times! So he went off and joined the clergy; that's a perfectly understandable course of action. There was nothing cowardly about it. He did the right thing. He never questioned his own motives, and did not choose to join a sect -dedicated to secluding yourself from the world, reading books, and travelling to faraway places where no one cares how you acted in times of crisis- just because he was afraid to confront his own past!

That's ridiculous!

I think you'll find the individual in question grew up to be a perfectly sane and rational man.
