Coolio, it seems that I'll start playing games other than XCOM in January :)

If i may make a suggestion, it would be to limit the number of distributors. in fact, try to encourage direct sells above all. if your game succeeds (and it looks like it have a very good chance to) the difference between the direct sales and the average distributor fee can be thousands of dollars a month and honestly, if one of them isn't valve, the exposure they give is minimal. (except desura, which is nice)

Yeah. I'm really keen on the KS for that reason. With most companies taking 30%, the ~10% that KS takes is quite a striking difference.

I get someone hitting my preorder page every few minutes during the day. So as soon as the KS is going I'll add a way to do it via Paypal. Hopefully they wont do the usual thing of locking up my account. :p

Once the preorder page actually means something, I'd suggest making your front page NOT drag your screen down with text that's being typed out. It's... very 2001.

Wouldn't having Paypal preorders lower the chance of your Kickstarter succeeding?

I've always found it a little weird that people don't wait until the end of their KS before opening up other methods of purchasing.

Not everyone can use Kickstarter, and it allows your paypall to profit from the hype, which can die of quite quickly.

Indeed. It will be late in the campaign and will allow for those who can't/wont use KS to get in on the action. Hopefully it wont undermine my campaign. (I'm going for a significant chunk of change, which I'm a bit on edge about)

I wish there was a game close to this, so I could play it till this one comes out.

I got pretty majorly featured in Edge! http://www.edge-online.com/features/kickstarter-hits-uk-but-what-will-it-mean-for-developers/

Got a huge and pretty detailed interview about the game coming to PCGamesN soon. I'll link it when it happens.

I'm having a lot of fun with Towns at the moment. Ask Burningpet, he'll give you the hard sell!

Nice to see you getting some more publicity for this.

The image of the surface with the ship, is that purely concept art or is it reasonably similar to what the surface will look like?

Have you got any idea of what the required system specs are going to be yet?

The exterior will be flatter than that image. But the dry, rocky jungle look is what I'm hoping for.

Windows users will need about 4gb of RAM. An i5 and a NV 9800gtx or above. So pretty middle of the range, I'm sure I'll be able to squeeze the engine for lower specced users.

On that note Just uploaded a new test video. Volume effects and lighting test: http://youtu.be/VGUpVYL0ipM?hd=1
