One which concentrates more on a speciffic tech level?

Watched one episode of the yogscast voltz modpack mabob. That looked fun. Make a base, install anti-missile system, launch missiles at other people's bases.

The hardest part is setting up a propper electrical generator.
The best one takes longest time and takes most resources.
Then it requires you to monitor it as well, cause.. overheating will happen.
And no, these are not your regular Buildcraft generators.
Suree you could rely on solar power, but then you may be vulnerable at night.

Chicken farms in general, but especially automatic ones can be a real resource hog. There is a distance at which they still age but don't move which can help, but I don't remember the distances.

If those farms are designed to give you guys experience, maybe you should switch out to a single public blaze spawn cage, at Tier 5 they can be switched off with redstone

So I'm working on a new set of servers. Once they're complete I'll probably be making a new thread too since this one is a bit long.

Going to have servers for:

Avorian (Complete)
Minecraft - Magecraft Reboot. Forge only, all 'magic' mods. (Not Started)
Minecraft - Roleplaying server using a Bukkit/Forge hybrid base via MCPC with industrial mods, an economy and a town/nation system. (In Progress)
Terraria - TShock base (Not Started) I may delay this until the 1.2 update, which should be June/July timeframe.
Corneroids (Not Started)

Any other suggestions for servers or hosted games will be considered. I thought about throwing up a dedicated hosting for Dominions 3 as well since its pretty low impact.

When the RP server for minecraft nears completion I'll need a few good builders to help me build out the spawn area. I have a list of people who asked to be considered for this before and will be reaching out to them. If you're interested and you didn't say so before, let me know as it shouldn't be long now.

Progress update on the MC server. I have all of the bukkit plugins working which I wanted to include and I'm now working on the worldgen portion of forge. Progress is good.
