Also, smartmoving managed to glitch me through a solid obsidian floor into lava where I lost all my stuff >:(

1. I will look into corneroids now that its out.
2. I refunded electronics' gregtech stuff
3. I am thinking of doing a magic only server now that ars magica is out. Would anyone be interested?

A Magic vs Tech server would be fun.
One faction can use only tech stuff and the other can use only magic, tech stuff includes all forms of piping and tubing and whatnot, and magic includes anything which creates someting from nutting. (So basically no cobblegens)

Unfortunatly without a bukkit server there's no real way to enforce that, and the magic folks would get stomped pretty heavily on account of lolquantum

I assume we have a decent enough playerbase that we wouldn't start cheating the second you turned your back. And quantum takes a long time to get to, whereas some of the endgame level magic stuff can be gotten in an hour or two.

   I think while a few players would start playing on a magic only server but you would only be splitting your player base between 2 servers. Ars Magica is really nice but every time i have logged on the server barring really late at night there has generally been at least 2 other people on. Even when not around them its nice having someone to chat to. Even when I log on late and there is no one else on generally someone will log on at some point. As it is the server is active and I fear splitting people between a couple servers will either cause 1 dead server or 2 nearly dead servers.

True, but I'm leery of piling even more mods onto the current server. Its already sort of a melting pot of every damn thing.

I think it will be a fun but short lived server as after a while the players will go back to building machines in the original server.

tech vs magic is not a good idea though, not even with a large population.
mostly because magic excel in the start while tech is a slow starter as darkling said.

Let me put this another way.

I'm going to make a new server which has magic themed mods. If you feel like playing on it, you're welcome to. If not, don't. I will be, so I can test and try out some of these other mods.

Because who the hell would bother with thaumium armor/tools when there are drills and lolquantum?

Two people now have suggested that there is a 1.4.6 version of runic dust but I cannot find one. Does someone have a link to a dev version?

I don't mind a second but magic-based server.
It's what I would preffer actually.
So I might be playing on that instead of all that industrialized hype.

The other reason for a separate server: Ars Magicka doesn't work well with factorization and a few other mods, though he is working on that.
