Same map as the 1.4.2 server, if thats what you mean. Its not the same as the 1.2.5 server because map format changed as well as about 300 other things.

I am compiling an update for the server which I will put in place this Saturday as well as moving the server to more stable hardware. The move should eliminate the random crashes we've been having.

   Well since no one has posted since it came back up I have the honor of double posting that it seems to be down again.

No need to post it really, I check it when I get home from work. Its back up now.

I have to say the instability is very puzzling, it doesn't even generate a crash log.

Regardless, I'm working on the windows server to prepare for the move today in my spare time, after homework.

About the crash log, I suppose you'd get one if the Minecraft application itself was doing something illegal and crashing.

But if for some reason the java engine itself is crashing (for whatever reason not directly related to Minecraft, such as insufficient memory or a read disk error) the only log you'd get should be in the system log.

Indeed. I am moving it over to a server now anyway so the problems should be alleviated.

Okay. Minecraft Server is up temporarily at 69.255.17.188

Please attempt to connect and let me know if it works. This is a temporary (hopefully more stable) home while I work on the server hardware.
