You can also try to grab it as it goes into the pink/pink/pink ender chest. Might be challenging enough for you, since it will usually get pulled out faster than it's put in. ;)

problem is, it'll disappear from that enderchest faster than you can grab it :P

also, I really need a portal gun. I find them in dungeons everywhere in SSP, but SMP? nooooooooo...
Make one. They're really not difficult to make.

nearly got myself killed by using my mining laser to kill mobs.

turns out endermen can't avoid lasers.
Its not the best hunting tool. :P

athames are amazing against endermen. Vs everything else, I use muskets.

I was wondering what was so special about athames...

what's their durability like?
I don't know, but I do know it takes like 2-3 hits tops to kill an endermans with one.

I've just discovered something.

the arena age spawns nether mobs. we have Z. pigmen roaming about, and at least 1 ghast :/
Er... that shouldn't have happened. But it is somewhat awesome. You can keep them out rather easily with a force field and a mob defense upgrade, or I can remake the age if you prefer. It sounds like somehow a Hell biome was selected, even though one shouldn't have been.

I think that keeping them out will be fine. thankfully, the present building stuff is explosion resistant.

also, it could provide a new challenge to any gladiators...
'open air' arenas would be quite interesting. Natural spawned hell mobs all over.

Keep it!  The arena already has a red sky and black clouds.  As long as we're careful about where mobs can spawn, this can add a lot of excitement to the arena.  Because now, it's an arena, but also an oldschool gladiator pit - you have to face the savage beasts as well!

Also, I've decided I'm going to exploit bee science to the fullest.  I've been looking over genetics and how things work, and I've determined three things.  1: You can get purebred bees to self-reproduce endlessly via pipes, which is good for producing a certain item like keeping a stock of honeycombs, but really I learned that from youtube.  2: With enough cross-breeding and patient, it should be possible to mix any given set of traits for any given species.  For instance, if you want water bees to have the nocturnal trait of modest (desert) bees, then if you get a water queen, a desert queen, and enough drones of each, you can make a third queen share traits as you desire.  Only limited by your patience and persistence.  3: It should be entirely possible to duplicate bees.  Apparently, any princess will mate with any drone, and genetics dictates the punnet squares.  Because of this, if you take a desert (modest) princess, and you keep throwing embittered (nether) drones at it, you'll eventually strain out all the desert traits and be left with a purebred embittered princess.  This process can also be automated.

End result?  I want to get bees which produce iron, live for ages, work incredibly quickly, and set anything nearby them on fire, as well as surviving in the nether, and working in the rain, at night, in a cave.

That would be rather appreciated.  Right now I've got 3x apiary with no automation.  I'm currently tinkering with genetics and trying to see if I can't tweak specific traits in and out of a particular bee.  I'll probably try to automate the genetic toying process sometime later, but it would involve an endless array of apiarist pipes to try and filter through the traits and find which needs to do what.

I have some... uh... whatever the bees from the water hives are from extrabees. I can donate those as well.

In fact, you may want to construct a Grand Apiary somewhere to house this breeding programme

Yeah, and this is a legitimate use of frames as well.  Different bees and different climates, and Twelve Sands has a desert, swamp, and jungle right there fairly close by, so being able to move between them during different breedings would be incredibly helpful.

That isn't an accident. I had bee breeding in mind when I chose the site of the town. :P

Considering you can survive falling through void for several hours in quantum, I doubt it :P

This is the void. The void that'll kill you if you fall into it in creative mode.

you'll want to see the sheer number of zombie pigmen, now.

there's so many, I think you'd die in quantum if you attacked one :/
More likely you'd be knocked off the side by the press of bodies.
