If you guys are worried about not having villages in the cave worlds, I can spawn in testificates and we can build up a village ourselves.
So, what should the main design of the spawn village be?

Well damn, it says Better World Generation 3 is also not compatible with forge.

Its quite stable actually. Has a bedrock roof and bottom, and looks like an endless series of caves with varied biomes.

Maybe connect them via tunnels... or roads... Or something...

Won't the NPCs not breed, though? I can remember reading something about them not acting correctly if underground...
I think the housing mechanics required a door with a clear line to the sky on one side. might be wong but i seem to recall something like that from minecraft wiki

Yep you are correct.

Villagers will mate depending on the number of valid doors. A valid door is any door (within the city radius) where the number of "outside" spaces within 5 blocks (in a straight line) on one side of the door is not the same as the number of "outside" spaces within 5 blocks on the other side of the door. A space is considered to be "outside" if it is hit by the sun during the day, i.e. it is transparent, and has nothing but transparent blocks above it all the way to the sky. Notice that a door is not a valid door without a roof on one side, or with equal amount of roof on both sides. Okay well I've proven through testing that the cave world option works.

What would you guys think about this as an alternative?

With two mystcraft mining/exploration ages but most building taking place on the island. Can move testificates back to the island from the ages via portals and establish a village.

Shouldn't be difficult to make a mystcraft cave world linked to from the island. would that satisfy you?

Though I do wonder if you can just drop a normal world into a mystcraft age folder...
