Just a note, because the patch last week turned Ship 10 into the first ship you see when you log in, ship 10 is now super full and they'll be preventing the creation of new characters on the ship starting sometime later tonight. So if you want to play on Ship 10 with me and others in this thread you should at least create a character quickly.

It sucks about the ship 10 thing, I had a few friends that wanted to play with me but hadn't downloaded it yet, so I made them dl it today so they could make their character. but they didn't get to it in time.
Also, if you pick red as the color for your suit, the first mag you get kind of looks like a pokeball from the back,

It's going to be a long wait, but I'm so going to be playing this in 2013.

It probably won't be too bad. By that time the bugs will have been worked out, the economy broken and fixed again, all nerf bats swung and a bit of extra content added. All thanks to our incomprehensible yet excellent friends to the east. Thanks Japan

In my experience they usually send NA the updates about 3-5 months later in most games.  So as soon as it releases in NA, it'll be the un-nerfed, broken, contentless hack that it was in The East 3-5 months ago.  And all the NA players will be like "So wait, when do we get the same patches?"

Still not necessarily a bad thing. It's nice to be able to use any well documented exploits in a game that have been patched out half a year ago. Cheesy, but it might help power levelling our new characters. We'll at least be starting on an equal footing at game start in any case. Although, other than the translations for extra content (after the core translation is complete), I'd be suprised if the engine didn't get its updates a bit quicker than that. Although, I could be very wrong about this.

The producer of the game has confirmed that the servers for different regions will be separate. However, this only means that JP will be separate from the NA and EU servers, at this time. Considering the number of patches to fix bugs and exploits that have gone on in the JP version I imagine those will be included whenever the content crosses the ocean, but there's been no official word on content patches.

On the other hand, it appears that character creation will be allowed on all ships starting sometime next week.

Finally. Finally, after several weeks of fucking my brains out I managed to get a virtual machine up and running PSO2 at a decent FPS, apply all patches and stuff and finally get to the ship selection. Which one are you guys playing on?

I ended up uninstalling the JP version some time ago as I didn't want to get too burned out before the Eng. release came out, actually.
