Ferengi conquered Caldonia and Malcor, what to do?

Retreat to Xerxes (main shipyard colony), forget remote colonies (for now), rebuild fleet, retake worlds
Gather remnants of fleet at new, prospering colonies and defend them until fleet is rebuild (Holsberg/Peliar Zel)
1, but spend part of money to mess up diplomatic ties between Romulans, Ferengi and others.

Free money and a breathing space is always welcome.  Also, there are no images in your post.

Gah, I forgot about them cuz I had to do stuff in the kitchen  ::)

Fix'd.

Accept the treaty, if anything it will give us some time to get our colonies in order and maybe crank out an Ambassador or two before they remember we exist and they're angry at us for not being computers.

Take their money, it's not like they won't declare war again in a few turns, giving us more opportunities to crush them.

I just need to check if one can build outside supply range.
Yes you can, I've been doing that with wormholes all week. Then again I seem to generally have a starbase/outpost fetish. So in the least each of my planets has one.

Jarod, have you been able to build them across wormholes in "claimed" territory? I'm not sure if I've ever been in a position to try it.

Also, have you ever gotten BOTF multiplayer to work? Haspen and I tried it about 2 months ago, with no luck. If you've been playing it we might be able to get a game going. Livestream anyone?

I haven't tried anything with MP.

But as far as wormholes go, if you can get a transport ship over to one of the openings, you can build easily on either side. Even if the other side (which it usually is) is in a place ouside your control/movement zones. When you build your outpost there though, you get a new control zone around it as normal and space counts as claimed by you. Which can piss off whomever is on the other end.

As far as Multiplayer go, it uses obsolete connection protocols and whatnots, which renders MP unworkable todays.

9.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As decided at a session of Federation Council and Starfleet Command, we decided to form a treaty with the Cardassians. But we shall not withdraw our forces from Malcoria.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Two weeks later, our colonists settle on Vendikar.

Week after that, Caldonian shipyards finish USS Sitak, our fifth Miranda and first of the Caldonian Task Force. Captain Illi Kor, who was previously commanding USS Alacrity, took the seat on board the newest destroyer.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The same day we also get a border observation report. Ferengi just lost one of their colonies to the Klingons, giving the wawrrior species a foothold in enemy territory. We shall continue passively monitoring the war.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Some time later we learn that Cardassians signed a peace treaty with the Romulans, who most propably are those aliens on the other side of the wormhole.
Speaking of Cardassians, we just received a demand for 700 credits, whcih we don't have at the moment. We will simply pretend we never received the diplomatic message.

At Turn 94, USS ShirKahr, another destroyer, leaves Caldonian shipyard.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Week later, Lacorians at last becam our affiliates.
Also, as the outpost at Vendikar nears completion, we will be able to send a Scout up to the farthest reaches of the space between Ferengi and Cardassians.
We have decided that Cpt.Cain on USS Khartoum shall charter that region. Replacement Oberth (already in shipyard queue) will join the Caldonian Task Force instead.
Also, we learned that Ferengi liberated their colony they lost to Klingons those few weeks ago.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Relations between Cardassians and Romulans get even better.
And our reptilan neighbours at last noticed that Lamcorians are getting on our side and sent us a warning.

Next week, another destroyer leaves Caldonian yard - USS Saratoga.

And week after that...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sorry midgets, I don't even consider absurd demands.

//So yup, we're back on updating track. I had my crazy week with Star Trek Online, but now I'm back to general forum activity, which also means this LP.
////Oh right, forgot to re-captain Euchre Jack. Oh well, next time :P

Cool man, welcome back. I suppose one of these days I should start playing STO again (especially considering how my account is still being paid), haven't touched the game seriously since the Ep1 DLC. Then again I've also been playing TERA as of late too...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Just as someone *cough*Cardassians*cough* sabotages our Construction research in minimal way, Ullians accept our affiliation treaty.
Caldonian Task Force has been reinforced by USS Reliant, commanded by Cpt.Euchre, and thus it was ordered to station at Ullia from now on.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next week, we get a peace treaty from Klingons. Such offers are rare but often they're actually the only ones who keep up to their promises. We accepted.
USS Andromede, an Oberth-scout, was finished and shall join Ullian Task Force.
We have also sent a membership proposal to the Malcorians.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At Turn 105, this time Klingons want to get us into the Klingon-Ferengi war. We won't be joining them. Malcorians sadly don't accept our membership offer, well, some other time then.

Our transports are on their way to outpost-ify both Ullia and Malcoria.

And that's the end of this rather boring update.

Indefinitely on hiatus, just saying so it is official.

And no, I'm not addicted to STO :P Things happened and I have to focus on other things than some vidja games.

This LP should be back on schedule in a week, or maybe two at most.

11.

Up to Turn 110 nothing happens.
At that turn, outpost at Ullia is completed and construction of outpost at Malcoria have begun. Soon we might be able to reach behind Cardassian space.
Not to mention that frequent gifts and talks with Malcorians bring them closer to the Federation with every week.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next week, USS Khartoum under command of Cpt.Cain sets toward the space between Cardassian and Ferengi territories, whilst the reptile-people send us a demand. It is higher than previously - who knows what might've caused them to grew bold.

Of course, we will rejected their nonsensical requests.

We also decided that more colonies will be needed. Holsberg system presents itself as worthy target - several medium planets with a waterworld included. It is however quite close to Cardassian space, and Starfleet Command decided to host another task force comprised of 2 Oberths and 4 Mirandas. They will be stationed at Holsberg during and after the colony his created.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Celebrations are held across the Federation as the Malcorians join us!
They're just slightly more advanced with us and their technology will surely boost our own research. After the crucial buildings are completed, the Kinetic Laboratory shall be funded, where newest propulsion engines shall be developed.
Malcoria will also serve as the main rally point in case of Cardassian war.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next week, Cardassians sent us this statement and broke the peace treaty we signed just few weeks ago. This puts us basically in the state of cold war. USS Khartoum has been ordered to spy on the border sectors, whilst reinforcing Malcor and creating our 3rd task force is our priority now.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Outpost has been completed at Malcor, as you can see it.
USS Khartoum has been ordered to spy as much as they can, however Cpt.Cain has been told to be careful.
At Caldonia, we finished the assembly of Miranda-class starship, USS Nautilus.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Week later, Cpt.Cain discovers a new star-faring civilization - the Romulans. After many hours of being asked for information, Khartoum departed further into the space.

Several days later USS Majestic leaves Caldonian shipyard and is sent to Holsberg to join Nautilus there.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Same day we also detect this strike force near Ullia. One can wonder if it's just a bunch of ships doing patrol duty or maybe the Ferengi are preparing to attack our affiliates. Given how poorly we treated the merchant-folk in recent past, they might still be angry.
We don't detect any Cardassian ships so far, besides single colony ship working near Ingraham B system.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next week we receive a report from Khartoum, which charted a Cardassian-inhabited system near the Cardassian-Romulan border.
The ferengi ships entered Ullia without provocation but they haven't attacked us so far // le what?
USS Martynov, first Oberth of the third task group, is finished at Caldonian yards.
Also, Xerxes system upgraded it's replicators thus turning into new shipyard site, but so far we have no orders for that system.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next week Cardassians tell us they are aware of USS Khartoum in their territory.
US Sandhusky is completed at Caldonia. Ferengi continue to probe our outer territories with their scout ships.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At Turn 122, Romulans sign a non-aggression treaty with us, which quelled the discontent amongst our citizenry.
USS Miranda, namesake of her class, is finished at Caldonia. Because we need a proper commander at Holsberg system, Captain Neer Dell is promoted and will control the fleet. He can take personal command of Nautilus, Majestic, Miranda or the fourth ship that will soon be finished.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Another Cardassian system chartered. However, Khartoum found out that it is being chased by a pair of Cardassian destroyers. Cpt.Cain has been ordered to abandon spying on Cardassians, run a curve through neutral space and rendevous with the fleet at Malcor.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Asking for peace whilst amassing 10 scouts and 3 destroyers right under our nose? No, I don't think so. Khartoum have lost the intercepting destroyers and is now conducting just one more system charter before going straight to Malcor.
USS Brunswick is completed at Caldonia which makes it fourth vessel that Cpt.Dell can choose from.

And with this we conclude this update :)

NRDL gets Nautilus, then.

12.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Those news shocked the population. Possibly influenced by Ferengi, the Ullians broke our treaty and claimed our outpost for themselves. We will try to re-establish the treaty, whilst our fleet remains in Ullian system.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This however is more disturbing. Cardassians developed new type of ship - a cruiser. Caldonian shipyards have been ordered to construct a pair of Ambassador-type cruisers to counter the threatening build-up of enemy forces. After Federation Council is completed at Sol, our homeworld will be tasked with construction of few additional Mirandas to bolster our forces.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next week, we receive word from no one else than Romulans themselves - they offer us a war pact. It is a tempting offer but we will stand with our ideology - we won't start any wars.
Cardassian cruisers and pair of destroyers are lingering at Ingraham system now.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Another war pact proposal from Klingons.
What's more important however is Ullian double-betrayal. They accepted our gifts and peace treaty, and revoked it hour after the money was transferred to their homeworld. They are now sided with the Ferengi.
Ullian Task Force has been ordered to retreat to Caldonia to prevent any incidents.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Two weeks pass without incidents and we receive news - Romulans rejected our trade agreements whilst Klingons accepted another short-term non-aggression treaty.
Cardassian force in Ingraham is now two cruisers, two destroyers, four scouts and two transports filled with ground forces.
Starfleet Command believes it might be invasion force preparing to strike Malcor.
USS Khartoum have joined the Malcor Task Force, but Caldonian shipyard is behind schedule.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Romulans declare war at Cardassians!
This however doesn't seem to have budged our reptilean neighbours at all. Current force at Ingraham is estimated to be 5 scouts, 4 destroyers, 3 cruisers, 2 transports.
Malcorians decided to postpone expanding their infrastructure - they are assembling Miranda-class destroyers now.
USS Monroe, first Ambassador-class cruiser, have been launched from Caldonian shipyards. Normally it would be a moment of celebration but the cruiser have been sent straight for Malcor system.

Next week, using spare parts and resources bought with credits at Caldonian markets, USS Madison have been completed ahead of the schedule and as well sent to Malcor.

We also learn of this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Vilmor, one of Cardassian border colonies, have been conquered by Romulans. Pair of scouts and a destroyer left Ingraham system and departed to the other side of their territory, albiet the force is still strong, posing a threat against Malcor.

Week later, USS Everett, a Miranda-class ship leaves Malcorian shipyard.

For the end, have a galaxy map. Romulans have quite a territory:

Romulans vs. Cardassians.  We can only prosper from this.
