Imperium Nobilem
The Noble Empire
Clearing his throat, the dwarven guide began his introduction.
"Salve, Hello!
"Welcome to the dwarven outpost of
Ritholthalal, the Noble Empire, as ruled by
Numolrithol, the Lonesome Nobles. While dark, the history of this fortress is very rich and deep with dwarven folklore. Though now long abandoned, this is the site at which seven nobles went into hiding from their own nation and were never seen again.
"Each dwarf was once close friends to the late Dwarven Queen of the Tombs of Gold Cerol Rainscasters, herself. Until recently, Queen Cerol ruled this civilization from inside her royal pub, where her personal brewer would serve the most legendary beer and rum from the finest cave wheat and sweet pods. As usual, the Queen invited her most trusted friends, Broken the Manager, Kosoth the Broker, Corai the Architect, Nix the Scribe, Hanslada the Sheriff, Fool the Hammerer, and LightningFalcon the Doctor, but tonight, the Queen was attempting to make-up for her rash actions against one of them, Broken. The night before, the Queen humiliated Broken at the annual banquet, telling her subjects of the noble's past life (hauling stone and refuse, sleeping in animal pastures, his vampire mother and stark raving mad father). It had been reported that the relationship between the two had worsened over the years, culminating to this very point. To fix it, the Queen ordered a private drink with the group at his pub. Not even the fortress guard was allowed in. It is believed that on that night, the Queen and Broken were to settle their disputes, but in the morning, Queen Cerol was found dead in the pub, drained of blood.
"When the King's son inherited the throne, he ran an investigation on his father's death. It was discovered that the seven nobles spent the night with the King in the pub, as it was normal for him and his guests to pass out there, and was killed by a vampire. Knowing of their dispute, the new King accused Broken of being a vampire and killing his father, and the other six dwarves were his disciples. The fortress guard was then dispatched to capture the seven dwarves and put them on trial. Seeing them up the street, Kosoth warned the others, and Hanslada grabbed the cats and the nobles fled for the hills to create a secret outpost to hide from the law. Through the journals and letters found at this site, us dwarven historical experts have pieced together what occurred on these grounds."
The dwarven guide motioned to the tourists to follow him towards the outpost.
In case it was unclear, this is a community fortress based on seven nobles. These nobles embark on a journey with no supplies, aside from their 7 cats and Fool's toy steel hammer, and with no prior skills except for skills of nobility. The only dwarves allowed into the fortress will be nobles (although prisoners might be taken).
There are seven starting dwarves, so that means only 7 people can be dwarfed (unless we get more nobles or you would like to be a prisoner... whatever). As people join, I will rename the dwarves.
The dwarves are as follows:
Manager - Broken
Broker - Kosoth
Architect - Corai
Scribe - Nix
Sheriff - Hanslanda
Hammerer - Fool (deceased)
Doctor - LightningFalcon
Dorving list:
Hanslanda the Sheriff - done
Fool the Hammerer - done
Corai the Architect - done
Nix the Scribe - done
Broken the Manager - done
LightningFalcon the Doctor - done
Fool - the next arriving noble
That's all that I can think of for now. I'll update if anything else comes along.
