That still leaves the last creature in each file, and each file would need to be done separately.
Still, I can see that being done in about 5 tedious minutes.

No, it doesn't.

Notepad++ => open all creature files => find/replace in all opened files.

And why the hell would it leave the last creature in each file?

I don't have Notepad++, so that's why I didn't realise it.

And if you add tags BEFORE the nam...Oh, I was thinking of a different part of the creature. My bad.
