Illustrated Adventures of a Dragon Hatchling
« on: July 01, 2012, 10:57:07 am »

It used to be warm, but now there's cold and hunger. It's time to break the Barrier, but first:

Name?
Male or female?
Colors?
Stats?
Natural personality? (A few words is fine. This is mostly for narrative purposes, and will quite probably change. If the dragon is, say, curious, I'd add a few more hooks for investigating.)

Spoiler: Stats (click to show/hide)

((Everyone controls the same character. This will be in a non-magical setting. There will still be fire-breathing, although I'm not sure how plausible an organ to extract hydrogen from water through diffusion is.
I'll roll behind the scenes for some actions, such as combat, but this isn't a game about numbers.))

name: MULCIBER (fire in latin)
Male or female: female(im thinking army production here)
Colors: pitch black all over (we want to remain camouflaged)
Stats: str(-1 ambush tactics with lots of fire dont require strength ), agi(+1 same as before also this stat is important for stealth), con(+1 wise to make sure we can avoid a human trap), luk(-1)
Natural personality: (i'm not so good at giving it fluff i'm more a practicality kinda guy,)
( humans, if this is a modern setting, have much better air superiority than us. we will want to remain as hidden as possible, also humans are always more scared of what they cant see then what they can, if they can see us then they can begin to understand us and then think up ways to beat us with there higher intelligence and collected knowledge ), also the power of a dragon isn't in dive bombing the enemy and hitting it as hard as possible in a physical attack. it is in remaining out of reach and attacking with fire, if they can reach us then they can kill us.

also i have dyslexia so sorry about bad typing

edit: i changed my mind with the stats.

name: MULCIBER (fire in latin)
YIKES. Fire is IGNIS.

Male or female: female(im thinking army production here)
Army production??? Since when do hatchlings obey every word of their parents when they become adults? No no no, female is fine, but the "army production" goal is totally absurd. For Dragons like for lions, when youngs become old enough, they leave and search for their own territory. When they don't try to take their parent's one...

Colors: pitch black all over (we want to remain camouflaged)
If it please you. I prefer red, but have no objective objection toward black/grey.

Stats: str(-1 ambush tactics with lots of fire dont require strength ), agi(+1 same as before also this stat is important for stealth), int(+1 wise to make sure we can avoid a human trap), luk(-1)
Agile and clever, okay. Less strength okay, fitting. But I'd make less  constitution rather than less luck.

Natural personality: (i'm not so good at giving it fluff i'm more a practicality kinda guy,)
Seeing the statline, it'll be a somewhat vicious drake... see ambusher and liar, using tricks rather than brute strenght.

I don't think it is a modern setting, and it is NOT dragon/human warfare. Using fire rather than claws is a matter of preference I think.

No, we would have to earn that title once we've hatched.
I can't decide whose idea to support, but our personality should involve being gluttonous and impulsive. :)

Name should be earned once hatched. We will take the title that weak bipeds will call us by, traduct them in draconic and bear them with pride.

Wisdom and Charisma are bundled together, to keep them from being dump stats.

Code: [Select]
Str: 1 vote positive, 3 votes negative = -2
Agi: 4 votes positive, 2 votes negative = +2
Con: 2 votes positive, 1 vote negative = +1
Int: 0 votes positive, 1 vote negative = -1
Wis/Chr: 1 vote positive, 1 vote negative = 0
Luck: 3 votes positive, 3 votes negative = 0

I'll give it a few more hours, but as things are now, we'll be a dark grey (total black's not going to happen) dragon that still needs to earn her name, with bonuses to agi and con, at the expense of str and int. There doesn't seem to be much of a consensus about personality.
