pond not getting filled fast enough
« on: July 01, 2012, 10:43:48 am »

I have a pond I've been trying to fill for my dwarven water reactor for quite some time now...  yet the water evaporates before I can even get 3 tiles to 1 water level.  Any ideas?

Spam pond zones on a single tile, this allows multiple dwarves to fill a single tile. Each pond zone will generate their own Fill Pond task, which then causes the pond filling to proceed much faster.

thank you!

I did come up with an alternative solution, but I didn't know only one at a time was doing the job...

I dug out a 1x1 tile area 2 tiles south of the water reactor, and began filling that up, then I built a water pump above it in preparation to pump water north into the water reactor (which has 7 tile spots that are going to need to be filled)... so... once the 1x1 is full, I'm going to make it a 1x2, and then continue to fill it before I active the water pump to send the water to the water reactor.
